I recently had the joy of spending the day at Forgotten Way Farm with the most amazing family. To learn more about the VanHoutans, check out my blog:

They are truly inspiring!

It sounds like a lovely family. I read about them in MJF and plan to order a drying rack.

Brenda, loved your blog and the music on it. How far is Orchard Prairie from Tri-Cities WA? I dream of living off grid but doubt it will ever happen, my husband doesn't share my enthusiasm. :)

Excuse the mess & the noise, my children are making happy memories

Hi Kimberly . . . I was just in Prosser a couple weeks ago! Orchard Prairie is actually considered part of Spokane . . . just a country orchard area of Spokane (kind of like Greenbluff, Otis Orchards, etc. Just heard one of our neighbors will be selling next year, if you are interested in being neighbors! I would love to fill all of Orchard Prairie with farmgirls! LOL!

I think I could go off grid easier than my husband as well. But, he is starting to get into some aspects of it . . . and he is really wanting to install a windmill (not the cute farm ones, but the big ugly things that completely power your house with wind . . . ) We have simplified a lot over the last couple years and I think once the kids are gone (probably only three or four years until they all are gone) we will simplify even more.

Hugs & Blessings,

Brenda
