I am sad tonight because I have not seen my grand son now for almost 4 months. He will be turning a year old Nov. 5th. The courts are so backed up here . It will be months before we can get her to court. I wonder if he has forgotten his Grammy. I miss him. My son saids she will come for his birthday maybe. But I don't trust her. She wants us to buy her the plane ticket. The plane ticket is around $750.00. I am afraid to buy it because she is such a strange person. Of course people who use drugs usually are. I am afraid she will change her mind and either sale the ticket or tear it up! My son is begging us to help him pay for it he wants to see his son so badly! He crys all the time about it. I feel so badly for him. Why are there mean people in the world!

Dorinda,
How awful! I am sorry for you and your son. I hope you get to see your grandson soon. I am praying everything works out.

Don't go with the flow...you are the flow.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Dorinda, I'm not suggesting you rock the boat but she is legally required to pay half the costs of travel for visitation if she moves out of state. Document her refusal to do so as leverage for your son's case.

Also, there are non-refundable tickets. I have used those before with step-kids.

That is so sad! My mom has never held my second baby and I'm due any time with my third. It's just so sad when families get all messed up and get selfish like that. It really hurts because she flaunts a picture of herself and a newborn but refused to hold her very own grandson... Oh well. I will keep you in my prayers that you will get to see your grandson!!!

Have you thought about going to where she lives and visiting? Just a thought...

She saids if we come there she will not let us see him. She will have to come up with a date when it is convenient for her!!!!!She was trying to black mail us with the baby. I can't wait to get her in front of a judge!!! I am so sorry Krystie about your Mom. I tell people when you stop talking to your children you are missing out on the journey of life!! Maybe you need to get that message to your Mom some way! I will never stop fighting for the right to see my grand son.

My grandson lives in Texas and I have not seen him in over 9 years when he was 8 1/2. He will be 18 in December. My son is in the Army based at Fort Hood. We have never been invited to visit them. We were going to go when the baby was born, but my son called and said don't bother, he may have to go overseas, and he never did. We get a picture of him every other year, a little wallet size, that is all we hear from them. I don't know if they get our birthday or Christmas gifts we send, they never let us know. I really feel bad about this, but have not done anything to them, and if they do not want to associate with us, let it be said. I know how hard iyt can be. I missed out on alot with my only grandson, but there is nothing I can do about it. Hope the courts will be on your side and give you some rights.
