Some of us are sick and just can't shake it. I took the entire day yesterday to rest, but feel the same today (yuck).

Feel better.
I'm hoping I don't get sick. I kissed a lot of people yesterday.

I can report colds and bronchitis at my place. I fought it off without getting all the way sick though, yay!!!

Ya'll need to start taking Vitamin D3. The reason we get colds and flu in the Fall and Winter is the lack of Vitamin D from the sun. In Fall and Winter the angle of the sun is such that we in the Northern hemisphere only get sun at an angle less than 45 degrees through those seasons. It is sun time between 10 and 2 PM with the sun at an angle of 45 degrees or better that helps keep us healthy. The recommended dose is 2,000IU for adults per day. You can bump up your levels by eating Cod liver oil, fortified milk, salmon, mackerel, & sardines, egg yolks, beef liver. Here are a couple of articles about Vitamin D3:

http://www.webmd.com/cold-and-flu/news/20090223/low-vitamin-d-levels-linked-to-colds

http://www.ihealthdirectory.com/vitamin-d3-benefits/

Hope ya'll are feeling better soon!

Oh my! I hope that all of you who have the sickies rest, keep up on fluids and get better and those of you who are hoping not to get the sickies, take extra good care of yourself! Margaret is very right, take that vitamin D!

Hugs!!

I have been contemplating getting the flu shot this year. But I am afraid to. I know alot of people who got it and then got sick. Also I have a friend who works in the medical field and she saids she does not get it because it can make you sick. The doctors and FDA does not want you to know that because it is a big money maker scheme!! But then she saids some people go through it with no problems. HUM! Maybe I will just stick with my vitamins!! I hope everyone gets to feeling better soon!1

I have been getting the flu shot every year for the past 10 years and have never gotten sick. Also had the H1N1 vaccine. I have worked for a large clinic and a hospital and they vaccinate everyone with no expense to us. I also don't know anyone who has gotten sick from it. Maybe it is all in your frame of mind. If you expect to get sick, there is a better chance that you do get sick!

We just got over what they called viral strep. All the signs/symptoms of strep throat but tested negative for it. Upping vitamin c will help the immune system. Read up on maximum dose for adults and side effects of too much. Melatonin will also ramp up the immune system.

Thanks for all the tips. Hubby and I both have a bad cough, headache, congestion, fatigue, etc. My eyes are swollen daily. We can't tell if it's allergies, or a combination of allergies and a virus. For the first time in history, I am putting my 9 yo dd on the bus in my pajamas, bathrobe and slippers. I am always showered and dressed by the time I need to get her up. Not today.

DD 12 yo is home sick today also.

I sure hope you get to feeling better real soon. I know I get sick with bronchitis every year...nothing I do seems to keep it from happening, but hoping it misses me this year...I will pray that you get better soon.

I got the flu from the shot this year. I heard of others who did also this year. I had body aches (the worst part) an extreme tiredness, nausea...it had me down for 3 days. I know this happens even if some people don't want to believe it. This is not the first time. I can truly understand the people who refuse to take it.

Blugh! I've been coughing up green stuff-CHUNKY green stuff-for a few days now. How GROSS! Something has settled in my chest. Luckily my DD and DH haven't had any symptoms yet.

Glad to hear I'm not the only sicky! I caught what I thought was a minor cold. Just sniffles really but a week later it went to my chest. After coughing and hacking for another week I then caught a stomach virus. Yup! Nausea & diarrhea for 3 days. Brother! But I'm finally feeling better after the whole month of October being sick. I'm thinking of getting the flu shot too this year. With this last bout of sickness I'm thinking my immune system could use a little help this year.

My allergy medicine makes me feel so out-of-whack. I'm still chugging along, but my throat hurts and I have a horrible cough. I have a hard time cooking/backing and cleaning. Not to mention animal care etc. Some way, I'll get it done.
