Please tell me that I'm not the only one who goofs once in awhile and the beautiful craft project that I envisioned in my mind has ended up going south in reality. I'm usually pretty well pleased with the outcome of most of my craft projects, but once in awhile one of them just doesn't work out, and it really eats at me. I guess it is because I don't have a lot of time to craft, and I feel like all of the time spent on a project should result in success. I had high hopes of completing a project this weekend and faced only frustration with it. It isn't a complete loss yet, but it is on the downward slide.

You are definitely not alone, Paula. I goof too and it gets to me like that too sometimes. I'm knitting a shrug and I'm nearly finished and had to rip out several rows of it. I wanted to cry.
I'm going to be up your way in a couple weeks for some Halloween fun in Holt.

Oh no, you are not at all alone. I am a card carrying craft clutz, if there is any way to goof it up, I do it at least once! I want to try a new craft some time soon, but am afraid of the consequences lol! I had some beautiful ideas and some beautiful spice colored corduroy last year that I was going to make little gingerbread men for the Christmas tree and I was going to use them in a garland and on a door wreath and I never could get them right, it still bugs me if I think about it

You are definitely not alone. I can't count the number of times I've goofed something up and either had to trash it, or try to fix it somehow. I think it happens to all of us at one time or another. It's one of life's lessons in patience.

Oh boy I can relate to this. Let's see...what haven't I messed up? My latest fiasco was trying to sew with oilcloth for the first time. Did not go well at all. In fact most of my big mistakes are with the sewing machine.

I think it's great that you actually DO crafts!!! I might take a class or see something I like, then buy the stuff but am too afraid to try it... "Perfectionism = Procrastination = Paralysis"!!! Iris Folded cards, rubber stamping, sewing, etc., etc. You name it. Even if what you make doesn't always turn out like you'd planned, kudos for you for doing it!!!

Oh boy, could I tell you about failed/messed up projects - let's see now. How about the time I hand quilted a wall hanging to my pants, or maybe the time I had a whole quilt top (tiny pieces) laid out on my bed ready to sew and turned on the ceiling fan - blew those itty bitty pieces all over the bedroom - or, well, you get the idea..................

Thank you Girls so much for all of the support! The ailing project has been placed in the drawer I have designated for projects needing later consideration. I hope that drawer doesn't end up getting full!!

| I LOVE LOVE LOVE to craft and for any reason, any holiday and whichever way the wind blows. My youngest daughter was in 2nd grade and we were in charge of a craft for Valentines day- well I got all the supplies, tried one at home and it was the biggest flop! The teacher and I still call it the crappy craft!!! and my daughter is 14 now... when a craft doesn't turn out that just gives me another reason to try it again or find something else that works!! :) |

| Happens to me all the time. The worst was the first year my husband and I were married. I was going to make his sisters sets of placemats with napkins, easy right? I could not get the tension on my sewing machine right and I didn't have enough money or time to give them anything else. I'm still embarrassed to think that I gave them those ugly placemats! |

Oh man I can relate to this....lol...I too, get a great idea, plan it out in my head & then when trying to do it something that was suppose to work doesn't......like the other hens here I have torn out so many seams of sewing projects...thank goodness for the DVD player that helps that process go faster!....I have learned to put away things I messed up in a drawer or box cause eventually I use them on something else....funny how a goof up can be perfect for something else.....I have been an artist all my life & I think the mistakes I have created would fill a store by now....Michele'
