With the huge garden, and other chores, I find myself "spring" cleaning in the fall. Yesterday I washed windows and even washed curtains. I never had time in the spring

I always heard there was a spring cleaning and a fall cleaning. Spring cleaning is traditionally to get the soot and dirt from the winter out, and Fall cleaning is the during the last warmish/sunny days before your clothes on the clothes line start freezing to get you set up for a winter inside. I definitly end up doing both even though I do have a washer and dryer inside and we don't do wood or coal burning.

I always seem to do more cleaning in the late fall, after the garden is done.

Don't go with the flow...you are the flow.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

I've always done a fall cleaning. Like to clear out the dust before I have to close the house up for winter.

I need to make my list of things I want to do.

I'm surrounded by farms and all of the dust seems to collect in my house! I always do a huge cleaning and decluttering in October, it helps get me prepared for the holidays to have a clean and tidy house to begin with

I always fall clean. Spring I want outdoors with my plants. Fall I know to decclutter so being shut in during winter wont aggravate me so much!

I always do a fall cleaning washing windows wax floors changing curtains and air filters
batteries for the smoke alarms
flipping the mattress changing the comforters and decorating for fall
i tend to live outside in the summer so the indoors gets a bit neglected
than i light some spicey candles and relax with nice cup of apple cider.

I find myself doing the same thing. Maybe it's the invigorating air. Open the windows, start some soup on the stove, baking in the oven...

I do both spring and fall cleanings. In spring, I go through clothes and donate all out growns, sift through toys and rid us of the least used, vacuum closets, shampoo carpets, pressure wash the driveway, and get the garden beds ready.

In the fall, I do it again, but have a bit more to do, if I'm going to be indoors most of the winter, and we entertain a lot over the holidays, so I clean for constant guests too.

The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.

Its funny but i do very little spring cleaning except to get the yard & gardens ready but the fall is when I seem to go crazy...I think part of it is I know I will be indoors with all the snow on the ground so the Fall is when I tend to clean & clean so I don't have to worry about it so much.....I also try to spend as much time outside while its cool & get the junk around the house moved ect & get the garden beds ready for the winter....love the fall air...the smell of woodstove smoke & the different color of the tree leaves....Michele'

I agree with Alee. I spring clean and then I fall clean! Gets my house ready to "open" up and then ready to "close" up.

Spring cleaning in the fall has always made more sense to me. When the garden is finished or dormant. Things are just slow outside and I'm happy to be inside!
