I am on day 5 or the worst intestinal bug I have ever had, took a preg test yesterday to rule that out, and called the on call Dr. tonight to see if I should go get checked out because of the pains in my sides.. He said that the side pain is a common complaint with this thing, and a lot of people have it, he is currently keeping an eye on a guy who is on DAY 10 of this wickedness!!!
Is this just a Helena thing or is it all over the place?

Bobbi -- my nephew just got over this. His parents thought he had gotten dehydrated in the IL heat and took him to the hospital. When he wasn't better the next day and had a horrible headache they took him in again. The drs did an MRI and a spinal to rule out meningitis but he just had this horrible virus. It took him 4 days before he felt better. I am so sorry that you're feeling so badly. I hope that you get better soon.

I clicked on this topic because last night I got called in to work at 10:00pm to update my computer servers for a new virus patch that Microsoft just released yesterday. It was evidently so critical that management wanted all computers updated before midnight. So I clicked here to see what kind of virus I was protecting it against!

My heart goes out to you, and I hope you're feeling better soon. I know of 2 people here in Southeast Missouri who have had it and they said it was horrible. {Hugs}

He just called it a stomach flu... Not fun!

I feel for you....I was sooo sick on Friday, I was sitting-on-the-toilet-while-you-hold-the-trashcan sick!! It was so terrible. Uggh, and the stomach pain!! I was lying on the bathroom floor in the fetal position.....
It really really sucks to be the Mom and be sick!! It was terrible for 2 days, then I felt really gross for 3 days, but I still don't feel "normal"
Do you still have an appendix? If you do, watch for fever etc.. and maybe call the doctor and see if they checked your blood counts when they ran the pregnancy test....If your white count was high, it could be appendix!!
Check it out.

girls I hope & pray you all are feeling better soon. It sounds awful. This kind of terrible bug in summer seems a bit weird also. Rest & feel better.

Have they ruled out a kidney infection? This would cause back pain that radiates around your sides, nausea, vomitting. You would feel like you had a really bad case of the flu.

yeah we went over all that... it's too high up for my appendix, and the pain is in the same place everyone is reporting it, I was told there are some glands right in that area that get a lot of pressure when your intesters get really badly inflamed.

Oh Bobbi- I'm sorry you are so sick! It sounds awful. There is nothing worse than having constant pain. Ugh. I wish I could make you some chicken soup, but then, you probably don't feel like eating. I hope all of this ends soon.

It took 7 days but am better on day 8! Last night was the first night I slept through the whole night without incident. Still shaky but the rank sweating is gone and I have been able to eat normally (although I am choosing things that are really easy on the system) and the side pain is gone too. I feel like a cloud has been lifted off my head, I was having the hardest time getting through conversations without forgetting what I had just been talking about!
Thank you for your warm thoughts and kind words. I am sorry it is all over the place like this, what a nasty thing to have hit someone. I am a healthy person and it zapped me really fast, so I can only imagine what it is doing to kids and the elderly.
My kids didn't get it and my lucky lucky husband who brought it home from work in the first place only had the runs and a tummy ache for a day and was over it like nothing.

I am so happy to hear that you are doing better. Be extra careful for a while, you immune system is wrung out now, and you could be more suseptable to germs and illness. I know, I got over the stomach virus from hell, and 4 days later came down with a sore throat and deep chest cough!!!
