"Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, "Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well" —but then you don't give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?" James 2:15-16

This is one of my favorite Bible verses and something God has really placed on my heart. We have the means to help others, yet we tend to keep it to ourselves. I have started a little ministry of my own, Love Given Away. I don't give money away, but I give liluga's away. If you want to know what a liluga is, visit me at www.lovegivenaway.blogspot.com

I am going to have a drawing for a free liluga for everyone who visits my blog and leaves a comment or sends me an email (lovegivenaway@gmail.com).

The drawing will be open until October 10th, 2011.
Thanks for visiting!!

I too enjoyed your blog and all the different little liluga's. I especially like the ones with the long floppy ears.
Thank you for sharing.

Wonderful! Your bible verse reminds me of a family in need that I ran across two weeks ago. I posted about them on the Across the Fence forum (called "the working poor"). I did what I could do, which wasn't much, but sadly, I haven't seen them since. So, I will keep that verse in my head for the next family or person I see...

and um, HOW FREAKIN'CUTE ARE THOSE LILUGA'S!!!!

Dear Jamie, I had to post again about your awesome idea. I wanted to make sure you know that in my opinion the first liluga on your page, at the kitchen window, is the best of all those cute creations. This one to me is the best, with its head being all eyes and ears it reminds me of a cat. And on that one the plaid or tweed pants are the dearest. I would recommend you make those and sell them! You could use a fraction of what you bring in the start a food pantry or donate it to community neighbors who are struggling. Or set up a savings account for your daughters to start a charity of their own. I read that you were looking for feedback so heres mine. I am certain your liluga will be a success. They are very creatively designed. I would make sure that you tag them with a label and your acronym name...so the meaning does not get lost.
I was wondering how you figured that out...that love is not love until given away? I love it, its a blessing and thanks very much.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words. Hearing positive comments reassures what I am doing!
Marthajane - I do a "L" on each of their behinds and I do include a card with a poem and the meaning of liluga, along with my blog address. I have sold a few to friends, but have not marketed them, not sure if I wanted it to be just ministry or not. As for the name, there is a popular saying (I have it embroidered on my wallet) "Love isn't love until you give it away". I prayed about a name and was drawn to this saying. I played with the letters and "liluga" fit just perfect. They are so much fun to make, I just need lots more time in my day....
