Remember that kerfuffle awhile back about the lady in Oak Park who was fined for growing vegetables in her yard?

Now they're shutting down a fabulous urban farm in Memphis. Shameful! What could be more valuable than learning self-sufficiency??

This is so wrong. They will be in total control when they are controlling our food and what we are allowed to do with our land and homes.

Thoughts are things choose the good ones.

Good heavens. I can't believe this guy is wanting monetary compensation for the cat scratching the guys hood. How does he KNOW it was the defendants cat? And it says that the plaintiff has loaned money from the defendant numerous times without paying him back. The plaintiff was also shouting threats the whole time? This is ridiculous. Not only is this guy innocent of any wrongdoing, but I think the defendant ought to be ruled to pay back the loans the guy loaned him! If he can't, maybe he ought to help him with his garden!!!

I can't wrap my mind around this. The guy is doing all this good work-and than his neighbor, who complains of rat problems (But lives next to a cemetary), wants the whole thing shut down. How awful.

Well good grief! His garden looks way more better than mine ever did. And all those compost boxes are covered and all organized and do not look bad at all. And what great lessons those kids are learning! What a great teacher! I hope this gains national attention so the whole contry can see what a great idea this is and what an amazing guy this is. And what a fool the guy is who is causing all this trouble for him. Why are people this way? Why can't they see how this is helping these kids? This makes me mad. And sad too because people are so stupid.

I don't understand this at all, here this man is teaching students during the day then comes home & the students come to him to help learn other wonderful skills with his worm beds, bees & gardens...I mean honestly how cool is that...then you have a neighbor who decides to destroy this...but what gets me is the front yard is beautiful & from the looks of the area they are using it looks to be surrounded by trees so you won't really see what is back there....What a lesson this neighbor is giving to the kids that are there to do something good. I saw no trash or disaray, everything looked organized, neat & clean. I think this neighbor has been like this before to others, one unhappy neighbor can destroy a neighborhood. Did you all see what happened in Calif, a homeowner was kicked off their land that they owned supposeably for living off grid? Thats what the news is reporting & I thought Calif was trying to encourage this type of life....guess not if they want to land to add to state land or let a contractor come in & build a bunch of cheap homes.....When food companies, electric companies rule what we do we are in big trouble...look at what happened with the corn seed that was created?..that company was able to take all your corn if they could prove a bee cross pollinated your corn with theirs...getting fined or arrested for having gardens has always been a right we have had since America was discovered, but it looks like big companies have so much money they can influence States, counties & towns, not counting the pissy neighbors we have to deal with also who want that golf course looking yards....Michele'

I know, I find this so baffling, frightening, and truly upsetting. I wonder how long until it's illegal not to slather our kids in Purell sanitizer? If McDonald's and WalMart shut down tomorrow, this country would starve to death. We have to pass down these most basic of life skills to ensure survival, but then this happens?
