I know, some of you saying "The heat??". Well, here in phoenix we have had record 100+ temps and it will be at least 90 until well after October. I like to camp best in the fall when the mountains have cooled off even more than normal.
I have been able to tent camp twice only this summer, as my husband is too busy and I don't really have anyone else I can camp overnight with. Most of my fam are only up for the day to enjoy the campfire and then go home at the end of the day.
Here's to hoping that I get a few more weekends in!!

I hear ya' Casey. While I don't live in Phoenix, my daughter lives in Glendale and I've heard about all the heat advisories, etc. We did live there for a few years (I now live back in SW Colorado where I grew up) . . . and I thought I would die.
But, I want to go tent "glamping" SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!! But campgrounds close up the end of September and the only one open until the end of October is high altitude enough that I think it'll be too cold for tenting it. And it will probably snow . . we've already had our first mountain snow. I think it's just going to have to wait until next year camping season. Waaaaaaaaaaaa!
Wishing you more camping! I'd go with you if I could! CJ

Hey CJ! Actually, with enough bedding and PJs, snow camping in a tent aint too bad really! I did it once. It was Memorial day weekend and we went to the Rim and it had snowed big. It didn't snow on us, but there was about 6 inches on the ground and it was cold. Down sleeping bags really helped with that. :) I don't think the campgrounds here ever really close. :) You should glamp down here in the winter sometime! :) Anyway, I totally reccomend tent camping. I am old hat at it now and it is FUN!! :)
