So, I've been working for about a month on getting two flocks of chickens mixed together, and I think I've got success! I hatched a small group of chicks about 2 months ago. I had them in their own little cage, which eventually got too small. I ended up lining a LARGE (For our Bernese Mountain Dog) dog crate with chicken wire, and putting that cage right next to the coop.

I started letting them have "Supervised" visits by letting all the chickens out at once, then putting away the little ones. This "visitation" lasted a couple weeks.

Once we ran into some inclement weather, I put them all into the big coop together. With no problems! :) There's been no peck injuries, loss of life (Thank heavens!) or pecking order problems. I'm kinda proud of myself! I heard it was hard to integrate flocks, but maybe mine are just easy going. LOL.

Good job Megan! It can be tricky to get those flocks together, but it sounds like you did it perfectly! :)
