Does anyone have any recipes for dealing with Candida? In order to eradicate Candida you need to avoid so many differnet foods, and all the sites I have researched are more interested in selling their cleanse than offering recipes. Thanks for your help.

I'm looking into a diet for Candida myself. I've been looking at this site lately: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/ She also has 2 yahoo groups. 1 for recipes & 1 is a support site.

I'm not buying any products. I hope that I can control it with diet alone.

I battled this for years. I quit eating fruit, juice, anything white, cheese, and anything fermented. In the end, I quit my job, the stress went away, so did the nasties.

Thank you so much for the feedback and the hyperlink - it looks like it's going to be very helpful. This is actually my daughter's problem that has recurred after two years. I believe that the cleanse in the beginning, actually did work, but she did it outside a doctor's care, and became very sick from the toxins because she did not drink enough water during the cleanse process. She is back combatting it again, but this time trying by diet alone. She now knows that if she doesn't change her diet and lifestyle, she will have this problem her entire life.

Candidastat WORKS! Dr. Tori Hudson is a gift to this world. I think her brand is called Vitanica. I used to get it at Fred Meyer, here in the PNW, which is Kroger with health food and everything else you will ever need.

thanks for that. I'm going to look for it next time I'm at the store.

I just picked up the book The Candida Control Cookbook by Gail Burton from the library. Very helpful! I had no idea that I should be watching my carbs. She suggests 60-100 carbs per day. I'm doing my best right now. I'm suffering because of a 7 day antibiotics run. My body just aches.

I remember eating a lot of plain yoghurt while fighting Candida. Adding probiotics to it would only make it better. Remove carbs, sugars, anything that feeds the Candida. Basically starve it, the problem is you feel like you are starving too! I hope the books help because I know how terrible it is. Good luck.

Excuse the mess & the noise, my children are making happy memories

One Dr suggested sleeping in the buff, no leotards, bathing suits. Another said no fabric softener and to dry panties in the dryer. For years anytime I had more than one beer, I had a problem. We naturally become more yeasty right before our periods. A period will kill it, and so if I knew I was starting by the next day, I would delay treatment, and just use the topical cream. They also suggested the 7 day cream treatment over the 3 or 1.

ANTIBIOTICS? That's how my whole mess started!!!

I was on antibiotics my whole life. And, was never given probiotics to balance back my digestive tract. Then in 2005 I became very ill with Lyme disease and my bowels became impacted. Thus, making a bigger problem.

My homeopathic doctor put me on her fail proof candida diet. I am under weight so I struggle with gaining weight.

Here are two books you can get that will help you win your battle with the candida. There is more to it than just the candida diet.

Eat Right for your blood type, Dr. D'Adamo
The Cure for all Disease by Dr. Hilda Clark

I sell this information on my Etsy site. I have tons of gluten free-candida recipes as well and want to put together a farm girl cookbook soon.

Hello! Looks like you got great advice so far. I just wanted to share my 2 cents...I struggled with candida for many years. It took at least 9 months of really watching my diet (no dairy, gluten, simple carbs) and cleansing with clean food detoxes to get rid of my UTI's, rosacea, yeast infections, etc... I feel so much better. Oh, And I always take a good probiotic. Nature's Way is a good brand and inexpensive.:)

Hope this helps! lisa

Good information. This is something I struggle with, too. Thanks for posting this!

Nature's way is a good brand, I also used to take one called something horrible like Yeast Away, or Yeast Be Gone. Madethe mistake of leaving it on my desk at work. Don't talk to her when she's baking bread.

I'm sorry, but this gave me quite a chuckle this morning!

I've been taking Azo Yeast. http://www.azoproducts.com/products/azo_yeast It works pretty good.

Why is there sugar in everything? Makes me crazy. One good thing, my children are reading food labels more & more.

My daughter is away at university (3 hours away!) and called me last night in tears because she had another yeast infection. That's the worst feeling as a mom, so far away and can't help her . She had tried to go to the campus doctor, but the clinic was overwhelmed & she had an evening class she couldn't miss. I got online and found a 24 hour drug store in her town, so she could buy the over-the-counter treatment after class.

This is the 2nd infection she's had in a year--what's going on? She's been eating yogurt daily. The nurse at the clinic mentioned cheese and beer as being problem foods. She always seems to get these infections with her period, too. I asked her if she's been eating a lot of sweets, too, since I've heard there's a sugar connection.

Sounds like there are lots of people who deal with this problem...

Plain olive oil soap, so baby castille. ONLY, if anything at all. Don't use soap when you have the infections. And whatever you do, no yogurt in there. Dairy curdles. So many old hippies have told me to do that! Hi Momma!

For me, it was all stress. At it's worst point, it was happening every month. I stopped asking my Dr; and added candidastat to my monthly expenses. Then I would only have a day or two before my period.

At that point, my doctor asked me to take an AIDS test, because you get yeast infections when your immunities are down. I didn't get the test, because my husband just had one, he got VERY sick from paint, they didn't know it was the paint, yada yada. Also, lets just say, I was a late bloomer, and entirely shocked when I found out years later, that kids have sex in high school. Thanks Dad :) I thought it was only the two girls that got pregnant, that did IT.

SO DONT GET FREAKED OUT IF THEY ASK ORDER UP AN AIDS TEST
I hope it never comes to that, they just don't know what else to do.

I never ever use soap, let alone down *there* lol. NO never use the yoghurt there either. That turned out an old wives tale (or a hippie one ;) ) I just ate a bowl of yoghurt and will keep doing that. For one I love yoghurt and always ate it years ago. Maybe that is why I never got candida before...who knows. Lately I have slacked in eating my daily amount of yoghurt hhhmmm...wondering here now.

YES it is stress with me too, I know it is. Hope it will be over soon. Thanks again for all the advice :)
