I didn't know where to post this, but since my problem is in the garden - here goes!
We had a parade of red ants from an area under the bird feeders around the back of the house and up the walkway to the front of the house by my apple trees.
We've been bad about picking up the dropped apples this year, they were harvesting. (It was pretty cool to watch them carry the pieces of apple all the way back around the house.) I picked up all the apples on the ground.
I'm concerned about my dog, they parade right through his area of the yard. What can I do about these?
Last year they were in my garden. I discovered them crawling up my legs and biting me while weeding. I sprinkled Borax over their home and didn't see them again.... until now. Same nest.
Deb, sorry about your ant problem... they can be a nuisance... you need one of these, a Texas Horned Lizard... this lovely critter has been spending a lot of time in my yard, happily slurping up harvester ants with her sticky tongue...
