Two nights I was bitten by one of these...

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/08/15/AR2008081503123.html

A tiger mosquito. I've got a welt the size of a golf ball-and it is throbbing and burns more than itching.

I even put on bug spray before going out. Please be careful out there!

Megan, that looks evil. Have you tried plantain yet? Just pick a leaf and chew it up and put it on the bite. It will help and make the swelling go down and the itching stop. I made a ticture of plantain leaves and ACV and keep it on hand for bee stings and bug bites. It's really good and I am sure you have plantain growing out in the yard. Great for the baby too.

I'll try the baking soda today. I'll look for some plantain, but I don't think there's any by the house...

It may be too late in the seasonnow, but look into putting up some purple martin bird houses or bluebird nest boxes.

Not sure if they are common to your area, but they eat mosquitoes.

Bats do too. So you could also try loking up nfo on bat boxes.

HOpe you get some relief soon!
