Kristi,
Here are a couple pics of our tent on the road trip. But this is VERY BASIC as we didn't room for much in the car. We also used large pieces of vintage fabric to cover our chairs outside the tent. We had twin size air mattresses and sleeping bags. Robin covered hers with a lovely wedding ring design quilt, I covered mine with a sheet with nice wide Battenburg lace.
We used different curtain panels and valances with clothespins to hang "lacy" curtains on the outside and over the back window on the inside. A little table with an embroidered tablecloth, a braid rug between our beds.
Outside we used a bright rug, old cowboy boots with a big pink peony. I don't have it in the pic but we also put another little table outside the door with another embroidered tablecloth, put some of our vintage dishes, a vintage thermos bottle and a vintage picnic basket there as well. If I can find a pic showing that I'll post it.
These tables are like those chairs that are popular that you fold together and stuff in a bag. The tables are small, low enough for between chairs, fold up and go in a little bag. . . very handy. I had some vintage small square embroidered tablecloths that worked perfectly.

Kristina, check out "Glamping in a Tent" posted by Maryjane Lee ..
You will be amased how sweet a tent can be 'sweetened up' with vintage lace, tablecoths & flowers.... CeeJay has some great tips & using clothes pins (maybe decorated ones) to hold everything together is a great idea. Maybe you can glue some fake flowers on the clothes pins,
Oh & don't forget garlands of fake flowers & cute lights(like the clear tiny christmas lights).I found solar twinkle lights at Target last year & they work great! & best of all,,,they don't need to be plugged in!.

I've never seen solar twinkle lights, but will look out for those. I did buy some of those solar stakes, but they quit after 2 days of putting them out to charge. Big bummer. I guess I'll have to invest in nicer ones.
With 2 kids in tow, for our first camping trip this year, I don't like to be weighted down with extra packing. We do have used rugs (floral pattern) for the tent or borrowed camper, and a pillow sham made into a small table cover (I gently removed the back pieces to make it a table cover). I will look for the lights, but will probably use the tent stake ropes for hanging my towels to dry (vs. bringing a clothesline). Maybe this winter I can look around for used curtains to glamp up the tent. I did buy used floral cloth napkins, but need more. I also need more camping pot holders and vintage or vintage pattered dish towels. I just may have to take a set of pot holders out of my on-line store.
As far as farmgirl fashion goes, while camping, I bought matching bandannas for me and the girls. Last year I bought bright pink, and a navy one for my husband. One trip I wore white with black print. It's now a tradition. I'm always looking for new patterns and colors.

Kristi . . . sounds like you've got some good ideas.
I just look at all the thrift stores for sheets, curtains, valances, tablecloths and napkins that "suit my fancy" for that purpose. Have found some really good things to use and I put them in my "glamping gear" storage bin.
Our vintage picnic basket (was one my mother had and used every time our family went on a picnic when I was a kid) has some REAL china plates, cups and saucers, REAL silverware and cloth napkins. Some kitchen type towels and such in it so it's "grab 'n' go" for the purpose.
Just this week I found a nice throw rug in soft farmgirl-ish colors for 75 cents and a really nice crocheted afghan in soft green and cream for $3.oo which will be perfect for throwing over a bed or wrapping up in at night.
I'm like you . . . don't have a lot of room to haul or pack stuff.

I went through my scrap fabric and found odds and ends of different curtains. I will take a few of those, and clothespins. I checked prices for the string lights - Yikes! Maybe next year on those.
Last year we invested in blue and white metal plates, with matching mugs. I bought a cook pot (small) with a spoon and 4 bowls at a goodwill that also match. I bring along our silverware from home too. My Uncle gave me an travel oil lamp also. Oh...and I have a few cloth tablecloths.
I just started collecting patterns from coloring books to embroider flour sack towels for camping also. I can't wait to start those too.
We had thunder here tonight, but we are booked for a camping site tomorrow for 2 nights. I can't wait to go also.....we plan to make a stir-fry on the campfire and eat with chopsticks - ha ha ha!
We leave after dh gets home from work - not soon enough for me. Ha ha ha! I took a one week blogging hiatus to catch my breath, get things done, and regroup my brain. This trip, although very close to home, is much needed.

CeeJay,,,you are so right on! hitting the Thrifts for old sheets, table linnens & curtains....then wash & get out the scissors and start creating all kinds of goodied to deco ones tent, trailer RV... pillows, table covers, ragrugs, pot holders, the ideas are endless...
Oh & Kristina, saw an idea for a quilt made from bandanas...lay them flat, overlapping slightly, stitch along the overlap.. make strip/rows and then join the strip/rows and then attach batting, backing & binding to make the quilt...then you can embellish with puttons or what ever.
You can probably make a lap quilt as a trial run and use it as a table cover... you'll need 16 bandanas to equal 4 rows of.... or to do one a bit small, try 12 to equal 3 rows or 3...well you get the idea.
