I'm looking for some simple, easy, hand embroidery books suggestions. I learned from my Grandma (decades ago) and am wanting to get back into it. I like simple, folk art, prim, kind of things. Here's few I have "on hold" thru our library-

Doodle-stitching, Embroidery for Little Miss Crafty, Stitch-opedia: the only embroidery reference you'll ever need

Any other ideas?

I have Doodle-Stitching and it's good. I taught myself to embroider by reading it.

Doesn't Sublime Stitchery have a book or two out of simple designs?

I don't own this one, but I did look through it pretty well at Michael's and really liked it- http://www.amazon.com/Rainbow-Stitches-Embroidery-Cross-Stitch-Project/dp/0823014789/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1312788707&sr=1-1 lots of folksy type stuff but done up new and modern.

I'm not sure if you want stitches, or patterns, or just idea books. But, this blog is great for stitches, she is going through a book trying every stitch in the book-which I think there is 1,001 stitches, or something like that. lol She inspired me to buy the book though! And I really like it. I have learned a lot of new stitches, that will really make my embroidery more interesting.

Magnolia thanks for the tips! I'm looking for some basic stitchs and projects. I did find this site I really like and there's tons of freebies- http://www.theflossbox.com

I'm going to start their free sampler soon-
