Breakfast is my FAVORITE meal of the day. In fact, I make breakfast for supper! :-) My favorite is a toss-up between Eggs Benedict and a Western Omelette with hashbrowns and grits. I put my recipe for Eggs Benedict from scratch at the blog this morning. What is your favorite morning food?? :-)

I like breakfast for dinner, too--the little girl and I do that about once a week!
It really depends on how I'm feeling that particular morning. Sometimes I'm feeling sweet, other times I'm feeling savory. If it's sweet, it's whole wheat pancakes or cinnamon french toast with bacon or goetta, if it's savory, it's scrambled eggs with chives and cream cheese with sausage or my husband's chorizo, jack cheese and spinach omlette. Regardless of what we have, there has to be coffee, coffee, coffee and some oj!

Right now (I am getting a late start) I am fixing fresh local grits, my sausage and eggs and tomatoes, and I mix it all up. It is SO good. With fresh ground whole wheat toast. And REAL fresh home made butter.
My next favorite is the bacon and tomato sandwich with sour dough bread. Yummmmmm!

I'm with you in the benedict camp Mary Beth! I'm also really fond of making my own "mcmuffin" sandwiches because I can fry up a pair of them for me and the hubby for early breakfast in 15 minutes w/ one pan. He prefers ham but I love them with sausage patties. I fry the eggs just about over-medium and the yolks are just not quite set and it reminds me almost of benedict :)

Jen, I used to work for that Golden Arches place back in the 70's and was a breakfast cook. I know their secrets!! :-) I posted how they did theirs at the blog. They don't do them the same way now as they did back then. They were soooo much better back then!! :-) Good for you!!

Creamed chip beef for breakfast, Karrieann? That's supper up here :) I guess it's not different than sausage gravy, but for whatever reason I can't see it any other place during the day but dinner!

Sunday nights are omelet nights at our house. :) My favorite breakfast for breakfast time is homemade bread toasted with peanut butter or apple butter. :)

My favorite summer breakfast is berries and milk or yogurt, my hunny man makes to die for omelets, which I love any time of the year YUM! I love old fashioned style oatmeal and when I really feel hungry its bacon...lord! I LOVE bacon lol.. and sugar-spice french toast! I also love a baked apple for breakfast.
We simply love having breakfast for dinner too!. One Christmas eve a few years ago, we arrived home so tired and full of the troubles of the world that we were too dispirited to celebrate. Well that would never do, so I grabbed the apples, put a dab of butter with a little cinnamon and brown sugar in them, and got them baking, ran and did the chores , got into a pretty dress and an apron (of course!) and fixed the rest of our dinner. That Christmas eve we had French toast, baked apples, and brandy spice fresh whipped cream And it was heavenly!

Hubby makes the BEST sausage gravy. Homeade biscuts with a scramble egg layed on top......YUMMMY!
We only really do bigger breakfast on the weekends. The kids love that. During the week everyone is off to work and school at different times.

Belgian Waffles...I forgot about belgian waffles Elaine! Love them with strawberries and whipped cream ON TOP of butter and syrup. Yum.
Annika, when I was kid, summer Sunday night dinner after church consisted of three kinds of sherbert, watermelon, cantalope, cherries, peaches and any other fruit that was in season. We kids looked forward to Sundays all week!! :-)

Definitely eggs benedict! I have had a version of it with crab cakes in stead of the canadian bacon. It sent me into orbit!

I'm on Facebook too much, I keep looking for the "like" button. My favorite breakfast here lately has been potatoes and onions fried with swiss chard, topped with two sunny side up eggs sitting on a whole wheat tortilla with hot sauce or salsa.

we have lots of hens, so eggs are a big part of our meals! The kids love scrambled eggs for breakfast with cheese. I love eggs florentine, or spinach fritattas or a dutch baby pancake!
We often make breakfast for supper ,too! Egg "mc muffins" is a big hit with the kids. Another one is skillet supper. basically it's hashbrowns, with eggs and ham or turkey added, and topped with cheese! yumm! |

Breakfast is the ULTIMATE meal. I like either one of the following variations: oatmeal and bacon, eggs and bacon, or waffles and bacon. Mmmmmmmm!

Tracy, I've never heard of using crab cakes. Wow. Now THAT sounds interesting. Were the cakes made with fresh crab or just the kind you buy at the store? That sounds just yummy.
