Today I made the peanut butter with choc chips cookies from the last issue of the magazine with the farmgirl budget mix. They are so good!!
I made a double batch of them since we have new neighbors...The kids were so worried there wouldn't be extras for them otherwise. There are plenty. I used the whole wheat budget mix and sprinkled the tops with organic crystal cane sugar. yum!!

I was just thinking of baking cookies! I really should, the kids started school (we do year-round here in the grossly over crowded city) and they really want some cookies in their lunches...Jenny, you have talked me into.
Now I just have to wait for the kitchen to cool off...So, I will start around midnight!!

I end up baking most times LATE at night this time of year...I am very sorry I heated up the kitchen this afternoon..but I wanted to get cookies over to the new neighbors this evening.
I am sure glad we don't have year round school down here..but in some ways I guess it is a good thing. I pack my kid's lunches too, and I am AMAZED that almost no one does anymore!!

Jenny -- I was going to bake cookies this afternoon so will be giving these a try. They may end up being only peanut butter. I think I'm out of chocolate chips!

I think they would be just as good.
I ended up with 4 platesful so I had the kids deliver them around the neighborhood and we kept one plate..all we need for sure.
I want to try those lemon puffs soon....they look really good too.

Lorij, do a google of "oatmeal cranberry white chocolate chip cookies"; I found a ton of recipes. The ones on recipezar looked really good!!! Now I'm going to have to bake too!
Jenny, is the Budget Mix like Bisquick, or something else all together? I'm hoping to try some soon...

I didn't have the recipe Lori..so I guess it is good that Sharon googled it!!!
the budget mix is "sorta" like bisquick I guess...but not shortening in it, and it is organic and more healthy I am sure. I have just loved everything I have made with it. I will be re ordering for sure! I got the whole wheat this time and the white last time..they are both really good. The whole wheat isn't really brown or heavy...but wonderful.
