I made some of my own soap but I didn't really care for it. I'm not sure what it was if it was how it lathered or smelled I couldn't put my finger on it.

I was wondering how many of you sold your soaps that maybe I could buy or trade for something? Not sure what exactly I would have to trade but if you have etsy or something available let me know! I'd like to see what kind of soaps other farmgirls have to see if it's just my soap or if that is the way homemade soap is.

Thanks for any info/tips!!!

Maybe try a different recipe? Could you grate it up and make laundry soap?
I do make soap, but just keeping up with my needs is hard.
I make a lard soap for laundry, and usually goat (or cow) milk soap for hands and body.
These are all simple cold process.

I do make/sell my own soaps. And I love them. But not every batch works! I've been trying more colors/fragrances/clays so I do have some re-do's in my future.

For extra lather, I like to use castor oil. Did you use any in your recipe? And smells are a funny thing. Can really change from the bottle to the soap. I think my new favorite is Strawberries and Champagne. But the nice thing about making your own soap, is that you get to change your favorite often!

I have been making my own soaps for about 13-14 years now....cold processed soap. If you wouldn't mind sharing how you made yours and your list of ingedients I can tweak it for you and make some suggestions. I Having used anything BUT hand made soap for over a decade. Once you get it right you will never want to go back.

I need a good, easy recipe for body soap or suggestion on a good book. I have milk goats and really want to make my own soap.
