I have been loving the look of cowgirl boots with skirts, but am not sure I could pull it off. It seems the skirts are usually "softer" to counteract the toughness of the boots. Any advice? How do you put the look together?

Thats kind of how I put the look together. I love calf lengh or knee lengh cotton skirts with cowgirl boots.

I love the long flowing skirt with the boot. Denim skirts can also be cute too.

I do a knee length denim skirt with tall boots all the time. I think if you like how it looks that is all that matters!

If I do cowboy boots, its generally with a knee or calf length skirt...but that might be its because those skirts are the only lengths I have! They are not necessarily "flowy" but they aren't as rigid as denim. I'm with Liz - if you like how it looks and feels, that's all that matters!

I have two pairs of boots (one black and one tan) and they both kill my feet! I usually wear them with a skirt too. Do cowboy boots hurt your feet too or am I wearing the wrong kind? I tried some of those fatbaby boots on and they hurt my feet right away and I tried on multiple sizes and widths too. I noticed my heels come up in roper boots although they feel the best on my soles so I just don't know if it's just me or what. Love the pictures Diane!!!

I havse found Ariats do not fit my feet well at all. The Justin Gypsys are great for me. I do wear the more squared off toe with my brrom skirts which I guess now are called gypsy skirts. I think that looks best, but then I am not at the age where I would try to pull off a short skirt any more either!

Cowboy boots go with anything! But seeing as how I've been wearing them since I was a toddler.... and then it was often the only thing I was wearing!!! :O

I love cowboy boots! I'd wear them all of the time if I could. I usually wear mine with jeans, but maybe I'll try skirts too.

I found an awesome pair of cowgirl boots on etsy. :) They were a thrift store find-I love them! I wear them with a long, flowy skirt, usually. Denim with a ruffled shirt would look cute as well, I'd imagine.

Yes, yes!! Wear them with almost any skirt for everyday wear!

I bought a pair of Frye boots that were pricey up front, but they are super comfortable, will last forever, and here's WHY I wear my boots all the time: in the winter they keep my feet toasty warm (live in Northern WI). So, for me, it's not just fashion, boots are practical as well.

You'll look fabulous if you FEEL fabulous!!

I wear cowboy boots all the time. I wear either Justin Gypsy's or twisted X. I like the support of the twisted x but I can wear gypsy's all day long and they are as comfortable for me as tennis shoes. I wear them with long or medium length skirts all soft and floaty. My daughter who is 97lbs soaking wet wears them with little short summer dresses and skirts and short shorts. She looks adorable. I occasionally wear mine with shorts but usually only at the barn.

Thoughts are things choose the good ones.

Wish my feet could stand ordinary shoes! I'm a BAREFOOT farmgirl . . my feet are NOT happy when they get the slightest bit hot! So, I can only do boots in the COLD weather. Love 'em with long skirts!

I love being barefoot! But with snakes, thistles, dog poop, cow poop, horse poop, chicken poop, outdoor cats...when we go outside we wear shoes most of the time. I love my Double H boots along with my FatBaby's. Ariat has always been my favorite show boot brand, so naturally I love their rec boots, too. :)

Well . . I don't go barefoot in all that unsavory stuff outside because I don't want sore or filthy feet. I DO cover my tootsies for that! Just not for "regular" . . . (whatever that is) purposes.

I know it's a bit off subject, but does anyone know where I could find a pair of plus size cowboy boots? I have calves only a mother could love. LOL Also, boots with a dress or skirt is super cute. It doesn't matter if you are 2 or 102!

OMG! How did I miss this post? lol!
I love wearing my boots with jeans, skirts, dresses and fluffy petti-coats!....
I am in the pic that Diane posted...on the right wearing the multi- orange colored skirt....I find that the 'Broom Stick" skirts look so cute with my boots..
I have Ariats, Justins, Dan Posts, Tony Lama, a pair of purple Durrangos & I even indulged myself in a pair of Lucchese....
A well fitting pair of boots will feel fab-u-los!
Never put up with a crappy fitting pair or you'll hate wearing them....
I have dressy boots, kick around boots and working boots.... check out my katmom blog to see what my boots do!

I recently bought my grand daughters each a pair of cowgirl boots....they look soooo cute!

Tiffany, I know some of the plus size clothing stores sell wide calf boots. Don't know if they have cowgirl styles. I try to buy ones that aren't too high and can often make them work on my calves.
