Well this is just too funny! I am surprised so many like it burnt...I was the only one in my family who insisted on this when child. I thought I was the only one..!

Many years ago while expecting my middle daughter (she just turned 39yrs) I craved fried bologna sandwiches, I just couldn't get enough of them. Crazy what some memories can pop up when you think about some things. I also would grind it up and add sweet relish and miracle whip and call it "ham salad" one of the things my mom would make when I was little.

I also like fried Spam sandwiches. They are probably gross also because of the fat content. I only eat them once in a great while. They must be on soft bread, mayo, spam and dill pickle. Yumm.

@Kristina, I've never put potato chips on fried balogna, but I put them on most other sandwiches, especially bbq pork and any cold cut sandwich.

We use to eat them too when we were kids. My brothers and I went home for lunch when I was in the 4th grade, one brother in 3rd and one in lst. I made them for them for lunch then back to school. Haven't had one in probably 20 years. Might get some bologna next time I am at the store. See if they are still as good.

My grandma used to make these for us and my dad and I always had them for lunch when I was little. Very yummy! I have't had one in ages and think I am going to have to have one now lol
