Those are beautiful this is the first year I planted hollyhocks at this house so mine are only 4 inches tall right now but I know next year and every year after that they will be big and beautiful.

If only I could figure out how to post pictures from my phone. I have the best grapes going this year...just 3 plants but they are huge and growing up over the side of my patio "arbor" I am so excited. The rest of my garden is going good now. I have had a few small ripe tomatoes already (violet jaspers..my favorite) and picking lettuce and baby pak choi like crazy.

My husband actually suggested using the weed wacker! It's been so blasted hot here that I haven't been able to bring myself to actually go outside and garden and now I am so far behind-

Everything is growing in my garden! Beans, zukes, tomatoes, peppers, pumpkins, squash, onions, and carrots. I planted the pumpkins a little too close to my cukes, so I have misshapened cukes...lesson learned. But I tried Mammoth sunflowers this year, and I'm going to put nylon stockings around the heads to keep the birds from eating them before the fall drying season. I want to use them outside in the winter to feed my birds. We just finished a drought period today with the Lord's blessing of 3 inches of rain! Now the garden will REALLY grow!!! |

Yes...................WEEDS!!! I hate my gardens at the moment. I just can´t control all the weeds that are growing. I have contact a gardener (with help from the housing co.) Have to wait and see how much money it is to help me maintain my garden. I have NO help from anybody so have to do it alone and I just can´t do it anymore duh.

I have yellow glads blooming right now... http://field-days.com/im-glad
Every bloom in my flower-beds is either yellow or white. I love that look in front of my red barn.

I love gardening. Last year when I had cancer, my garden was late getting in and didn't amount to much. This year the garden was planted on time and things are growing well. I plant my cucumbers around a circle of wire and they grow up and don't lay on the ground to be eaten by bugs. My tomatoes are not doing well at all. I don't know the reason. They haven't grown tall like usual. My tomato crates are 4 ft tall, and the tomatoes have set on, but they are growing like determinate tomatoes. Green beans are doing very well and I just picked a gallon of them. The zukes are over growing themselves and I feed them to the dog. The eggplant and peppers are doing so-so. I think I will have to spread more manure next year.
Love the sunflowers and hollyhocks.

The weeds have taken over my garden since the heat has been so bad. But before that I had very pretty tomatoes...20 different varieties...cucumbers, okra, squash, butter beans, string beans, watermelons cantalopes..and corn...or and carrots too. Then in my herb garden I has basil, sage, oregano, kale, potatoes and sweet potatoes....only thing left in the herb garden now is the sweet potatoes...they will be ready in a couple months...it has just gotten so hot...still getting tomatoes and okra but that is about it...

Got a lates start planting due to snow, then instant summer. Most of my seeds never sprouted. I did however, pick my first zucchini yesterday. It was big enough and I was excited enough that I rushed in and made choc. Zucchini bread.

Gosh! The garden was planted late this year due to our cold, wet (snowy) spring. But tomatoes, peppers, leaf lettuce and carrots are looking great. Green beans look a little sluggish. Potatoes should do fine. Let's hope for a late fall/frost.
Make it a great day! |
