Well, I said I was gonna do it in this miserably hot weather and I did. :-) I froze all of the blueberries we picked so I could put off canning them while I canned other things that needed immediate attention. Today, I decided that I'd use today to "get 'er dun" even though it's 104 out there. Do you know that we've had over 30 days of triple digit temps?? Can you believe it?! Western OK has had 55 days of this stuff. It's just unreal.

Anyway, I got half of what I was planning on canning done and I took a break to make blueberry muffins! Yummy. I posted the step-by-step at the blog. I love having canned blueberries in the winter. They are so handy! I put a picture of the muffins below. How do you size photos so they don't come out so big?!

They look fabulous. I wish I could get blueberries to grow here in blazing hot west texas. I've tried multiple times. They are just fried - along with everything else in our garden. We got about 15 blueberries off of 2 bushes. Not quite a fabulous harvest.

Oh dear, Susan. Did you plant them where they only get the morning sun? Here in Okieville, that west sun just cooks everything, so I finally figured out to plant my rows of bushes where they get morning sun and afternoon shade. And I have to dose them with Miracid too.
