My daughter was moving and gave me some things to donate to a thriftstore for her (no car). I decided to wash the bedding since it might have been moldy from sitting too long. Didn't want to donate something nasty! Found a like-new twin duvet cover, with 1 coordinating sheet. I'm going to take both and turn into a new queen duvet cover for me!

She also had a really cute, ginham blue/white couch cover (like new) that fits perfect on my old used hide-a-bed (which I got free at Freecycle). Looks awesome!

Took the old couch cover off (front was really worn) and will sew the good fabric on the back, into pillows, table runner, etc.

All free!

Be the change...

Isn't Freecycle the best? I am always amazed at some of the stuff I see on there that people are giving away. I wonder why some of the stuff isn't for sale, but I guess they just want stuff gone quickly.

Your plans sound wonderful!

We have given away lots of furniture to freecycle, good stuff, just not worth trying to sell...

Sounds like you got a good deal, Nancy! I went yard saling this weekend and found a commercial/industrial hand held sander with a stack of sanding pads for $25.00. I am so excited because I have a $3.00 dresser and a $20.00 picnic table to repaint and resell...Every dollar makes a difference to that credit card balance I am slaying!
