We had a HUGE field to ourselves got there early before it really got hot and ended up with 20-pounds of Strawberries! We washed, mashed and froze every last pound within an hour of coming home...I can't wait until it's cooler so I can make Strawberry Jam--
we have a lovely u pick berry farm near us here too, so far this year my husband and I have picked cherries, blueberries, red and black raspberries and red currants. Since I don't have my own berry patch, I sure didn't mind picking in theirs!

Merry,
I LOVE making jams and jellies but the SUGAR....Uggghhh! This year I am trying Low Sugar Certo. I don't care for jellies and jams that are so sweet they make your eyes cross!
I saved a bunch of berries in the freezer to make into jam this winter too! I made 3 batches already but I saved about 5 more in the freezer. I can't wait for the blackberries and raspberries and blueberries now!
