I LOVE the Food Renegade! She rocks! I too soak my grain and dry it prior to grinding it. You can also soak ground flour too. Here are some links for you Michele:
“Kind hearts are the gardens, kind thoughts are the roots, kind words are the flowers, kind deeds are the fruits. Take care of your garden and keep out the weeds, fill it with sunshine, kind words and kind deeds.” ~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1808-1882) Farmgirl #3020 www.grey-wolf-farm.com
thanks margaret for the great sites. Gee there is so much to learn. I thought just grinding your own flour was good for you. I have done one batch of bread so far. I figured out how to use the grinder I was given. A corona, with the grinding stones. And I followed a recipe from......Laurels Kitchen, I think. It rose wonderfully. If soaking makes the grains better for you, I think I will set the flour to soak the night before, and give it a try. I am just starting on the adventure, so lots to learn.
Thanks, Nancy. I love buttermilk. I just made some form my goat milk the other day. I like to put a little honey in a glass and drink it. So good! I will have to look closer at the site later.
