Love lavender! In central Texas there are some Lavender farms, and occasionally one can find a lavender festival in a small community. Nothing better that walking by lavender plants on a breezy day and smelling their wonderful scent.

I love to tuck lavender sachets in to my fabric stash. When I pull out the fabric to use it smells heavenly!

I like to use lavender in my landscaping and in pots around outdoor furniture to help keep away mosquitoes! I also like to add a drop or two of lavender essential oil into my laundry soap, especially baby clothes, it's sooo soothing!

I posted this on the facebook page; I have PTSD and use lavender to help my anxiety and to be able to relax. Because I have insomnia, I also use it to help me fall asleep. I take some of the flower heads and rub them between my fingers and then sprinkle the lavender under my pillow. The scent stays all through the night. I also have a lavender candle that I light about an hour before bed. That fills my room with the fragrance and really helps me to drift off to sleep. Lavender is great for so many things. I have a lavender salve that i keep in the kitchen in case of burns. I have used it more then once, and I have to say it really brings relief fast! I also crush up the flower heads and sprinkle them on the floor in my van. The scent is great, and anytime anyone walks on them it releases the scent!
I forgot to add that I added lavender to my daughter's wedding bouquet when I made it in June, and she said that the scent helped to keep her calm :) I also love lavender tea, and have recently tried the honey, which is great also! |

I have fibromyalgia, and lavender scent is so incredibly soothing at night when I have trouble sleeping or am feeling overly stressed. I like to mix organic whole oats and lavender and sew them into a neck pillow that I can heat in the microwave to soothe my sore muscles. It's a beautiful herb!

We use lavender here for a ton of things, but I think what's best is that my 7 and 8 year olds know lavender is what you grab when Mom burns herself cooking. :)
