I want to make my baby boy some summer clothes (romper and sun suits). The olny problem is that every pattern I'm coming across is a knitting pattern. I guess it's because they are patterns from the 40's & 50's. My question is, Is a knittng pattern literally knitting with a needle and yarn or is it specifying the type of fabric to be used? I would like to buy a couple of these patterns on Etsy but want to be sure of what I am buying first. Thank you ladies!
knitting means needle and yarn. Knit is a fabric as well, but highly doubt a pattern would say it was a knitting pattern if they mean you are buying knit fabric. If you want to sew with a machine, there is some remakes from 40's and 50's at regular stores, sometimes on sale at Hancock's and Joann's for as cheap as 99 cents. They are put out by the big four (butterick, simplicity, etc) I am pretty sure it's simplicity that has quite a few right now in stores.
