does anyone have a good idea of how to do embroidery on bandanas that look neatly on the opposite side? Mary Jane has a picture of one in either her book or one of the magazines and i was wanting to do some for presents. however, so far, my back side looks awful and i really don't want to start and stop 100 times on each bandana????

I embroidered 8 flour sack towels, and knotted the ends of the threads. However, this set I'm doing now, I carefully stitch over the backside thread (I leave a little when I first full through). If any small ends stick out, I cut them off. I still knot when I do my french knots. When I end, I pull through the backside, and with my needle, work it under my past stitches and then cut the thread off. Hope this helps.

I did one of those bandana's turned out great. Took some time.
I did jump across on short areas, but otherwise I cut and knotted alot.
One thing when you wear it, it is usually folded over and you won't see it.

Jani, it sounds like quite the project...I would love to see pictures too! My embroidery always looked messy and I was envious of people who would keep theirs looking so neat on the opposite side. :)
