Hello girls!

I'm need some advice about displaying my knitted items for upcoming craft shows this fall...I'm completely stumped!

Here is my etsy store listing http://www.etsy.com/shop/longtallsallys
with just a few of the "knitted" items I want to showcase. Just the scarves, and half-mitts will be showcased. By the end of the summer I am going to have quite a few more items to sell!

The thought of just laying my knitting out on a table isn't very appealing to me...I need a display that will grab a customers attention-

Any ideas??

Well, something I saw at a Fiber Festival is an idea. Someone made a "rack" out of PVC pipe and strung plastic circles on the top pipe. They then put the knitted items (scarves) through the rings and made a great display.

How about a clothes line? Or what about one of those sheep made of wool. The ones made of real natural wool with the black face and legs. A couple of those with scarves on at the entrance to your booth might draw attention. I've seen them pretty big before. If you have the wool you could make your own! Wooden head and feet?
Or you could do a snow scene with that poly fill sheeting stuff. Put a sled on it with your wares and make a snowoman from the same stuff and have her wear them.
OK enough from me. It's late and I'm a bit loopy!

Hi Melody :)

My first thought for the gloves was something like this:

You could make your own by using branches secured in a cute pot with plaster of Paris then cover the plaster with moss (or yarn might be fun unraveled)

When I show scarves I use an antique clothes drying rack - it folds down and holds a ton. For mittens you can run a piece of yarn through the cuffs with enough room so folks can try them on and again hang over a drying rack or I had a cute little clothes line on poles that again is easy to transport. One thing is to make the booth have a theme or at least a tie in to your products. I have a antique wash tub on wheeled legs that I use for hamd made felts with a antique collection of washboard amongst them that are also for sale. Take it from some who has done 15 years of shows all over the coutry you do not want displays that are heavy, hard to set up and look like everyone elses. Have fun.

When we lived in hawaii i had a scrapbook kiosk at the harbor. I used those metal crates you assemble to make a large U on the table and attached items to it using clothespins etc. You can really gussy these up nicely and change the layout for different fairs, events, etc. A small investment that changes with your needs.

I tried to replay to this yesterday, but my wireless connection was kaput. Try small stepladders with tiny hooks or tacks to hang the gloves on. Scarves draped down the stepladder will really show them off as they'll be on a diagonal slant. A mannnequin hand is also a great way to display gloves and can be placed invitingly pointing to a pile of gloves for people to go thru. A strand of mini lights (battery operated works well!) in addition to electric candles also lend a homey cozy appearance to the display. Tho it's summer, you're wanting to get them in a Fall & Winter "cozy state of mind"
