Hey Farmgirl sisters!
Coming up September 22-25, in Salem, Oregon is Rootstalk, a celebration of people, plants and planet! MaryJane will be teaching a class on Saturday, September 24, from 2-3:30 on the topic: Living an Everyday Organic Lifestyle.

Go here to check it out!

MaryJaneButters-Rootstalk

Here is just some of what the event will entail:

A unique experience in the majestic old growth forests of Salem, Oregon. Wander the emerald woods by day to learn wilderness skills, plant identification, home herbalism, urban farming, DIY sustainability, and more from the country’s most dynamic teachers and experts. Then as the moon glows, enjoy herbal brew under the towering trees or stomp your feet to strumming banjos, singing fiddles, and ecstatic rhythms drumming into the starry night sky. Rootstalk is an extraordinary celebration of skill sharing, plant folklore, artistic expression, scientific wonder, and spirited community.

There will be concerts everyday of the event as well! check out the link here.

This year’s event is being held in honor of Cascadia Wildlands, a small but fierce organization of planet guardians who educate, agitate, and work to inspire a movement to protect and restore Cascadia's wild ecosystems. This amazing group fights to preserve and rebuild a Pacific Northwest with vast old-growth forests, rivers full of wild salmon, wolves howling in the backcountry, and vibrant communities sustained by the thriving temperate forest zones found from central Alaska to northern California.

This is a must attend event and all proceeds will directly support Cascadia Wildlands. All of the profits raised by ticket sales, merchandise sales, and donations will be gifted to this much needed non-profit organization on behalf of all of the festival goers and participants who make Rootstalk an exceptionally beautiful and powerful event.

Absolutely!
One of our employee's mentioned it was only a 3 1/2 hour drive from Port Orchard, WA to Salem, OR. What an exciting event!

I just wished I lived closer so I could go to it. If it was in the summer months I could have planned on possibly getting there, but during the school year it makes it impossible to travel out for it
