Yippee! My kitchen is finally getting the 17 years too late makeover and this means that I finally get to buy a new place setting to go with the new look (though I doubt that I will get rid of my current stoneware handed down to me from my mom, but I just don't have enough pieces to carry on and we're changing colors, anyway).

DH wants square plates because we have seen them in restaurants and he likes them. We just don't want them to be made in China.

Any suggestions on a company to use? I just want plain cream color so that later I can add accessories and seasonal pieces with prints and colors and it will all go together.

Thanks!
Carrie

Fiesta Ware has a line of square dishes. The info said USA at the bottom of the paragraph. I have noticed that Corning has some square dishes, but, they say USA or Imported.

Have square dishes. Problem is plates will not turn in microwave. I personally don't care however, husband sometimes wants to reheat food on plate.

I think Crate & Barrel has these also. They are usually pretty good on prices also.

I got mine from Dillards a few years ago, not sure if they are made in the USA or not though but I really like them. I got the smaller, salad size plates instead of the large dinner plates.

I got mine from Macy's a few years ago. We actually got the luncheon plates & dessert plates because the dinner plates were the size of a platter IMO. We also got the square bowls. They fit nicely in the dishwasher and also in the cabinets. We have all white. They're the Macy's Cellar brand - and now just after checking them I am sad to say they're Made in China. GL with the search!
