I made a blog post about our container gardening day...we decided to keep it simple this year but I think we should harvest a decent amount of tomatoes...if you get a chance can you look at the pics and see if you think I should have ONE toma plant per container??? I have 3 with 1 and 2 with 2...thank for the advice!!!

I agree - two is fine - those are great containers. What kind of tomatoes are they?

Nice garden,Donna. And the boys look like great gardeners already. Those are pretty big containers. You probably could get 3 in them. I like to put alot to keep out the weeds.

Good luck to us both, Donna. I'm trying containers for the first time, too. I've only got one tomato in each of my containers, but mine are smaller than yours. Love your wagon a lot. :) Such a cute idea. Since I really, really love tomatoes, I planted a few in the ground, just in case. Keep us posted on 'how your garden grows'.

Well, about what "kind" they are...my dear helpers sort of lost all but 1 name tag! Those are called sungold. I have a few romas, a few slicing, and 1 cherry tomato plant!

As for the size of the containers...my dear in-laws moved in with us last August and for some reason they used these toes for all their packing! Granted they did not have much to take with them, but I still thought "what will we do with all these containers??" Now I know. I actually have about 8 MORE! I decided to see how these work first! So far, they are doing well. The dirt is holding onto the water nicely so I am careful not to over water. THANKS so much for your insight here.

OH! And I have THREE string beans tempting me to pick them off and eat 'em!!!
