Hi Girls,

well, I made my first bakeover!! I added spinach from the garden and carrots, some potatoes, thyme & rosemary from the garden, leftover chicken, parsnips, a dash of my favorite barbeque sauce and cheddar- oh boy was it good!!! (I just used what I had on hand) The crust was nice and flaky too!

What's your favorite bakeover recipe?

Thanks Mary Jane for the inspiration!
Connie

It's a recipe made with the Budget Mix. There are tons of recipes in the farm kitchen issue. There are several variations, but most include a meat. veggies, then the crust on top. You bake it in a skillet, flip it when it's done, and voila! Bakeover!

I haven't made a bakeover yet, but i have a package of it on my counter waiting to be used. Do you think i could make it with leftover pasta? I have a baked pasta with sausage leftover, if i add more tomato sauce do you think it would be like having garlic bread with pasta??? What do ya'll think?

Born in the wrong era...

I've only made it once--I used sweet potatoes and chopped up some dried figs to make it sweet. It was good. Can't remember what else I put in it--I think some breakfast sausage and cheese and a little of this and that...
