I've made more ice cream this summer than ever before! I've come up with the most delicious concoction... and the grand ingredient is buttermilk! Give this a try! =)

If you haven't made this buttermilk ice cream this summer... give it a go! Everyone who makes it is going nuts for it!

Here's a little recipe. But after you try it you'll want to triple it I'm sure!

1 cup buttermilk
1 cup whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla

(I'm going to try it with raspberry extract instead of vanilla... calling it raspberry cheesecake. Just haven't done that yet!)

Mmm, this reminds me, apricot gelato. We made it last summer and it was the best we've ever made. Better than huckleberry ice cream or even espresso ice cream. Have to make some soon!

Oh wow Michele! Anything with apricots!!! And just having those two words paired up: apricots & gelato... Yum!! I'm going to make this buttermilk ice cream mixture with apricots added. Maybe just add some apricot preserves. My mouth is watering!

oh yeah.....any gelato, and any apricot....
I invested in a "new-fangled" icecream maker this year but have been too busy to enjoy it yet. Many of my french cookbooks have really intriguing sounding ice cream recipes - I will report back:)

I think this will be my final ice cream post for the summer. I've had a ball with my recipes.

My blog turns one-year-old in a couple of weeks, and I'm planning an ice cream social to celebrate. Wish you all could come!
