I am trying to decide what style(s)of aprons to use for gardening. I know I need a harvest one, but would love to see what style you wear. Would you care to share?

I wear a half apron in the garden. It doesn't hold a lot but gives me an extra set of back pockets as I also tend to stuff things in my pockets. I also use it for yard sales to hold my money instead of using a cash box.

I wear scrub tops! I love these for in the barn and in the garden. They have two big front pockets and this hold a phone and tools and seeds and even trash I find in the yard!

I really like mine, I will try to put a picture up of it. It is a half apron with two big pocket almost the size of the apron. I made it out of cute fabric I like and there is no lace or ruffles or anything. It works great and is just what I need...love mine!!!!

You read my mind Kristina. I was planning to make a half apron out of denim or canvas for the garden. I have a pattern that has a pocket that is the front of the apron with a hand place on each side. It's the same kind my mother used to hang laundry. She put her clothes pins in the pocket.
I gotta get it done before the green beans are in!

I either wear apron or overall's in the garden. Keeps me cleaner, holds the seeds, chapstick, pocket knife, etc. When I come in from the garden I put on a clean apron to cook in:)

I love my overalls too! Wearing them right now as a matter of fact. I usually wear my apron in the garden when I am harvesting.

This is my heavy duty re-purposed jeans apron made form the legs (upper thighs) of jeans...it is heavy duty enough to wear in the garden.... I also have what I call a "Harvest Apron" that I made from a mans extra large shirt...I fold up the bottom up to create a large gathering pocket, perfect for holding fruit.
I will have to hunt up the pic of it or else take another pic of it.

I have a denim apron that I picked up from an old sewing company that went bust many years ago. Some people bought the building and sold the contents. So it's repurposed and local. It has one pocket in the middle at the top and two pockets lower, one on each side. I love it because it's durable. What's really fun is that it has bright orange bias tape trim that matches the print on the chest. The print is the name and address of thre sewing company. Very vintage and fun. I'll have to take a pic and share. :)

Grace, VERY cute!
I'm so glad this was posted!! My grandma just gave me tons of corduroy with little veggies all over it, and I was going to make a kitchen apron with it, but its such a heavy fabric. Thanks so much for the garden apron idea. I'd never thought of it, and always use my jean pockets, and stuff them to overflowing!! Yay, project for my rainy Saturday afternoon!!

The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.

I have a green and white full apron that I use for gardening. It has several pockets all over it, and it has a slight coating to the material, not plastic but more like outdoor fabric. I keep it hanging just outside my back door so I can grab it and put it on if I'm going to be gardening for a while. For just a quick watering of a plant or something, I usually don't put it on.
