You know how one thing leads to another then another then another? Well, that'a what's happening here. Yesterday we were invaded by flying termites. They were coming into the dining room like crazy. Well, I took the curtains down. Then threw them in the washer. Then looked at the living room curtains. Threw them in too. Then go to hang them back up and look at the windows. I can't hang nice clean curtains on those dirty windows! So here I go cleaning windows. Then frames. Then the walls. Then the base boards. Then this, then that, then.... It just doesn't stop! Oh my, I needed a break so I came here to rest. But hubby will be home soon and I want the living room to be nice a clean. So back to work!

I did the same thing this week!
I went out to clean off the deck for a b-day party this weekend. Then I got worried that we might have to move it to the living room, so it had to be cleaned and organized.
But wait! The kitchen is a disaster and everyone will be walkin through it to get to the living room. It had to be cleaned!
Oh no! The bathroom looks like ogers live here! It was scrubbed till it shined.
But the front porch can't even be walked down! If it has to be moved inside the smokers will need to use the porch for smokin on. It's bein cleared and swept today.
Well, I simply can't leave the laundry room upside down! What if someone needs a quiet place to make a phone call? They always want to use the laundry room for that! My girls are cleanin it right now.
That only leaves my bedroom and half bath in there. Since it's my birthday party as well as my daughter's and brother-in-law's, I think my Hubby should do those for me tonight.
After all, I'm exhausted from cleanin the deck! LOL!

LOL, this is ALWAYS happening to me. Almost daily I start something small and it turns into an all day project. My DH is always teasing me about how I can't ever just clean something. He says I have to make a mess to clean...go to put towles away, but a few have fallen in the linen closet, so take it all out and organize it. need to clean my desk...take everything off and go through it to figure where it needs to go... Kris-did you get the LR clean before your hubby got home? Angela-hope y'all have a wonderful combined birthday party on your clean deck!!
The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.

Yes, living room is clean! And I cleaned off the mantle that's looked awful for a long time. Cobwebs all over. Can you tell I hate to clean?? Like really hate to clean! But boy, do I feel so much better when it is clean. I have leather couches and chairs so had to get the leather cleaner out. Had to move them all first to sweep and mop underneath. Then washed all the windows and mirrors and vacuumed the cobwebs off the walls. So now it smells good and feels good. And I alos hung th eclock in the middle of the mantle and some pictures of roosters on either side. It looks good.
Then I went to the dining room. Swept and mopped. Cleaned more windows and shelves and knick knacks. So it's all cleaned and pretty. For awhile.
Angela, happy birthday! I hope you have a nice time. My oldest granddaughter will be 12 tomorrow and hubby will be 63 Sat. We are having a cookout Sunday for them. Then the next week is mine and my daughter's. We have birthdays in 2's around here. And most in May and June. I hope you hubby cleans your room for you. That's the least he could do, right?
Annette, cleaning is just an ongoing thing. It all runs together somehow. I do love a clean house. I cleaned in the kitchen the other day. Cleaned off the top of the fridge, the inside and outside too. It's so white it's almost blinding. I tiik all the stuff off the front too. And cleaned off the counters And the fronts of the cabinets. I am tired.

Wow! Glad to know I'm not the only one who makes a mess when I clean! I can be cleaning all day and the house not look it because I get to cleaning from the inside-out of things (closets, cabinets, drawers). But I'm glad I'm that way because it helps things to stay fairly organized...right now, I am organizing my recipes into a meal planner...will probably post all about that later when I get done with it. It will take me awhile, I'm sure :)

Geeze, now I can't stop. My granddaughter is spending the night, again, and she's in the tub. I had to get the broom and sweep around the ceiling for more cobwebs. And swept and mopped the kitchen, again. I am in a cleaning mood. Now if I could just tackle this room.
Cecily, things like peperwork drive me crazy. I think about it and then don't do it. I used to. I have recipes all over from where I copy them off the computer. They are all over. I have no idea what I have. So I really need to get that done too. My organization skills have left me.

Do flylady.net her friend kelly sends out 5 "missions" a week, if you do those 5 missions a week you get all these things done regularly and it just stays clean and doesn't go into hours of cleaning. Each mission takes 5 to 15 minutes. And you can just do one each day mon-fri.

Amy, ha ha! Oh yeah, I can stop. I seem to clean better when I am mad. And I was mad then. I guess hubby needs to make me mad more often! How are you? Is school out yet? I miss seeing you here.
