WOW...what a week!
At my DD's High School Awards ceremony on Monday night she was presented with a $1000.00 scholarship renewable upon completion of each year of college. We weren't sure how much she was going to get and we were pleasantly surprised. She was one among many of her peers to receive numerous awards and scholarships on Monday night. What a bright group of kids graduating this year-
And, this afternoon she was offered a full-time position this summer and then part-time in the fall at the IT Department at Wisconsin University. Big, Big news as she will be attending the university in the fall.
As parents we are so relieved that she will have some income during the time she attends school especially in our economically depressed area. She is very excited and proud too!
Just wanted to "toot" my horn about my baby girl who isn't a baby anymore-
That's fantastic, Melody. I remember those days of looking at colleges and hoping for scholarships. It is truly a proud moment when your student is recognized and rewarded for hard work and brains!! Give her a hug and just toot away! :-)
She is beautiful Melody, thank you so much for sharing her picture with us, it is beautiful too with her standing in the corn field. Farmgirl Hugs, Debbie
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult. - E. B. White

Thank you CJ....actually she looks an awful lot like her auntie Connie. We were at Bruce's parents house one evening years and years ago watching some slides taken of his family when they were kids and I just happened to come in from the kitchen and said "I don't remember Hannah having a dress like that." My MIL said that's because its a slide of Connie when she was little...spooky! Bruce has a quote...."If you plant potatoes you get potatoes!" She does have my sense of humor and her love of learning. Bruce gave her a bottomless well of goodwill and compassion and kindness. It's going to be tough watching her graduate in a few short days I'm such a baby at ceremonies...better wear waterproof mascara!
