I just saw this on HGTV and I think it is another sign of a positive movement. The more people realize they NEED to be growing their own food- the better we are as a society!

What have you ladies been noticing as a positive move in this direction?

Alee,

I think the shift in school cafeteria choices is a positive change. Slow, but positive.

FarmDream- I agree! I think that is a positive move too! I also really like how more kids are being allowed time to garden and play in the dirt. I think it is such a good thing for schools to explore!

Definitely a positive move!! And I am finding more and more women interested in gardening AND canning their own produce. I taught a class on Friday of some lovely women who were so excited to learn to can that I couldn't answer a question without the next question getting shot at me. It was exciting. These ladies were for real!! And men. Believe it or not, there are a boatload of men out there who are starting to garden and can and dehydrate. It's exciting.

Have you seen the Greenhorn Blog ? All about the farming "Movement" http://thegreenhorns.wordpress.com/. It really gets me enthusiastic about our farming project when I get discouraged.
