We have had such a wonderful crop of strawberries. I think they are my very favorite fruit to grow. Something about them being the first ones to ripen with those beautiful red berries nestled under green leaves. Anyway, I posted a couple of my recipes for strawberry muffins at the blog. I did them as two separate recipes because they are quite different from each other. Hope somebody can use them!!

Very awesome!

Thanks for posting it with the wonderful pictures! My 6 strawberry plants are not going to turn enough for this, but just incase they go on sale at the market again this year.

You can also use blueberries, fresh or canned in either one of the recipes.

Your six plants will turn into 12 and then 24 and on and on if you will watch the runners and train them into the row, burying the end of the runner in soil. That will root and make a whole new plant! :-)

MB, I was going to leave a comment on your blog, but try as I might, it always fails. For some reason I can't join, follow, or comment on your blog. I successfully liked it on FB, and so have a few friends and family, but...
Oh well, your muffins look and sound amazing. I'm looking forward to the sugar mixture topped batch I'm going to make today &hearts.
The cured ham post made me seriously want to go buy and gut a refrigerator, and purchase a pig. I'm dead serious. My DH kept laughing at me, and said breastmilk going to block your blog!! (He doesn't want to have your attorneys after him again!! Lol)

The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.

Annette, that is weird. First, click on the words "Comments" or "No comments" and that takes you to the comment box. Once you fill that out, there is a captcha at the bottom that you have to fill out in order to post. I had to put that there because I was getting so many computer generated spams. When you post, just scroll down below and you'll see the crazy looking writing that you have to mimic in order to post. Once you post the first time, I get it on my end and approve it and that makes you a regular poster that doesn't have to be approved anymore. Also, there is a link to follow the blog and when you click on that, it will show up in your favorites box when a new post is written. Of course, since you are on the FB site, you will be notified anyway when I post on FB. Sorry for you trouble!!

Worked this time. I had very bad service the last few days due to a wind storm...some things just would not open. all better now.

The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.

Oh my goodness. I just glanced up and saw the word "breastmilk" typed in my above post. I have a spell check that will auto insert words as I type. I don't have a clue what I could have typed that this silly thing thought was breastmilk!?! I'm so sorry, that makes no sense at all! Annette, proof-read b4 posting!! LOL

I just tried the traditional strawberry muffins a week ago and they were yummy. So good, in fact, that I made another batch today to put in the freezer for "starch attacks." Thanks so much for posting the recipe

Tammy, I'm so glad you liked them!! They are awesome with blueberries too. I like to use canned blueberries that are sort of drained because they make the batter blue! :-)

Don't you just love spell-check Makes me crazy. Okie Farm Girl I have been trying to connect with sisters here in Oklahoma and I am not getting anywhere. Very frustrating. I am starting a chapter in NE Oklahoma, but I am in OKC during the week. I would love to find any locals.

I am intrigued by your pastry cloth shop, and your blog.

Yes there is! I'm drawing a blank tho. I used to live in MWC many years ago. One of those stores is sitting on my old back yard! I will let you pick if you know of someplace. Only one I can remember is Lone Star, which was good. But I'm willing to go wherever.

There's Cheddar's, Santa Fe Steakhouse, Chili's, Logan's, Chicago Pizza, Panera Bread, Qdoba's and the regular fast food restaurants. Any favorites?

The only thing I know of is the Checkerboard Cafe on N. Air Depot.

Do you like tea rooms? There is an awesome one in Edmond that is my favorite.

Love tearooms! Do you mind going to Edmond? There is a great Thrift store there. Also an Art Gallery that I have been wanting to go to; my favorite painter has work there. Here is my number, sorry it's 918-671-4005. If you don't have long distance, I can call you.

Found you! Replied to another post last night and Marsha said you both were chatting here. Would love to meet with you in Edmond. I've been wanting to go to Inspirations! Mary Beth, your pastry cloths are awesome. Would it be possible to order and either come to your place or meet somewhere sometime? I live in NW OKC, but we are out by Tribbey and Wanette on most weekends and sometimes during the week. Anyway, glad to meet up with two other Okies. Hugs, Chris
