My question is how to put the squares together. Darlene said they should spin to the right. So if I have a block in front of me--is the colored triangle on my left or on my right? Hadn't thought of the size of the button. I haven't decided yet since I want to make sure I put the squares together right. And does the color of the buttons matter?

Yes, Darlene - would you please post a picture of a block so we know for sure which way the pinwheel is spinning? LOL! THanks!
I'm going to use a nice, spring-y, bright fabric for my wheels.
With a 12" block, I would this 1/2" - 5/8" would work well.

Top row of blocks will be: Left block: colored triangle will run to the left side and along the bottom. white triangle will run along the top and right side. Right block: colored triangle will run to the left and across the top. white to the right and acrossthe bottom. Sew the middle together.
Bottom blocks: Left block: white to the left and across the top. colored to the right and across the bottom. Right block: white to the left and across the bottom. colored to the right and across the top. Sew middles together.
Sew rows together and there's your block!
Don't know how to post pics. Check out my spring block if you were in the swap, it's a pinwheel.
I hope this helps. Actually until Linda O. said they could spin differently I thought they all spinned to the right! LOL! Don't they?
Buttons are everyone's choice.
I hope this is good because the fall and christmas swap is going to be a certain block and they should be beautiful. My kids better show me how to post pics!LOL! In fact I'm going to have them done early so we can complete them for this season. Fall blocks to me by 9/15 and christmas by 11/15. Sound good? I might just put them on board soon so we all can plan ahead.

Diana~you're a ball of fire sister. You did yours with the white and color opposite what I wrote but either way is correct. A pinwheel is a pinwheel is a pinwheel. They look great. I am addicted to doing them!LOL! Can't wait to get them all! I'm glad someone knows how to post a pic!

Darlene I am confused I know it doesn't take much but I am. Buttons on now, or we chose our own buttons when we put the quilt together?

It’s like a switch was turned...She is doing great. No more needing to spend the night with her. (I have time to sew!!) She is driving to church (first time by her self today) and food shopping now by herself. Her blood work is great now too. I guess with all the meds and the surgery’s it screwed things up a little. But she will be tested monthly for a while. Just in case. The nurse is only coming once a week. Just checking her vitals. But this will stop in about 4 more weeks. She still needs help with the ostomy bag. It needs to be changed twice a week. Wednesday and Saturday. The nurse helps one day then I help her the next time. We still have an occasional leak at night after the nurse changes it. She must be doing something wrong. But it’s not as bad as it was in the beginning. I make Mom stand in the bathroom in front of a mirror and do it herself. I help a little, but mostly just give direction. She needs to be able to do this herself. If she were to leak while I was at work, she should have to wait an hour or more before I could get to her house. She also still needs to visit the doctor in NY in July. If he clears her again, my husband says we will then get a local doctor for her checkups. It is very stressful and upsetting for her having to go into the city. I am trying to talk her into attending her granddaughters wedding next weekend. But, Mom says it is too long of a drive (Its in Philly. My husband and I are of course going to drive her.) So we will just wait and see how she feels on Saturday. I hope she comes with us.
Have a great Memorial Day. It looks like it is going to be a beautiful day tomorrow! take care

Kathy~glad your MIL is doing so much better. It takes the starch out of a younger person let alone someone her age. The leaks are the worst of it and as long as she is doing it she'll get it down pat. The nurse on the other hand??? I have worked with the best and the worst of them and everything in between. If she leaks she needs to wash the area as soon as she can to prevent a urine burn. They can be nasty and they take a long time to heal sometimes. Good job nurse Kathy! I'll let you know when the blocks arrive. I suppose it will take a week! LOL!

Kathy~ Received your lovely blocks on 6/3. They called for directions @ 7am! LOL! Thank you so much for the gifts. I love the sewing supplies and everything else in the cute book/pouch! How cleaver. I love the perfect size of the little purse. I will be using that when I go garage saleing so I can have free hands and a place for my money! I know you made them and they are so cute.
Susan~ Received your lovely blocks on 6/4. Thank you for the lovely handmade doily and teas. I love them. Never can get enough teas!
Sisters the blocks are looking sooo cute with the buttons on them.

Darlene, I am glad you received the blocks. I am going to try and work on a connector or filler block. I don't think I will be as quick as Linda was, but I am going to try my best.

I am so laughing at myself right now. I started cutting this late at night with hubby off for work travel. (i have trouble sleeping when he is away). Not sure where my head was but i completed 24 blocks!! Wondered why it was taking a while during the sewing, lol. Off to sew buttons then get them out in the mail tomorrow. Guess I can make a second quilt as well. (perfect, daughters best friend getting married in november...hmmmm)

I have emailed twice for the address and have gotten no response. Darlene - are you on vacation? Please send the address. The blocks are in the envelope ready to mail.
Or if someone else would please email me the address to send to?
Thanks!
