My mom was at kmart today and a lady gave her 2 envelopes. They had scripture verses on one side and a little note on the other. And inside was a pack of tomato seeds. I can't remember the verses but they said something about feeding the hungry. I just thought that was so sweet of her to do that. I don't know how many she had made and gave away. But that is so nice and such a great way to get people to plant something.

Mom gave me the seeds. So I think I will plant the seeds and use those tomatoes to give to people. Like the Chattanooga food bank or a women's shelter or something. I am inspired to plant these in honor of needy people. So please pray that the seeds will germinate and grow and produce lots of good fresh juicy nutritious tomatoes for these people.

This is the sweetest idea. I'm so glad you were inspired, and chose to share! It's such a simple thing to do, yet really profound! My DH is going to town today, I'll be askin for see. Wonder if I have any cute envelopes left...?

The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.

I planted most of the seeds in little cell cups. I have them out in the garden so I will remember to water them. I hope they will all come up and grow good and strong with lots and lots of tomatoes. Wish me luck!

I have the little cell pots right next to my big tomatoes so I water them every day. I hopt they grow. I have plenty of room to plant them when they do. I just finished staking all the tomatoes the other day. Just need to tie them now. The last wooden stake I hammered in, I hit my hand with the hammer on the last whack. Now that hurts! It's still puffy and sore. I have got to take better care of my hands. I am always hurting them somehow. Lots and lots of cuts. I need to wear gloves when I am outside but I hate them. Anyway, I will lat y'all know when the little seedlinds start sprouting. I can hardly wait. I already have little tomatoes on my bigger plants! So fresh juicy tomatoes real soon.

Well hello, Jewel. I have missed you. How is you daughter?

Nothing has come up yet. I hate all the waiting but it's fun to go check and see. Then when something does finally come up I get SO excited!

I know. And how simple was that? And not expensive at all. At Dollar General they had 3 packs of seeds for $1. So anyone could do that. I am going to go out and check them again. I should see something. It's been 4 days. Come on, little seeds.

Nothing is coming up yet. But we had some nice rain and it will be hot so hopefully the little seeds will sprout and I'll have some nice tomato plants.

Cecily, copy away! I think this is the best idea ever.

Wow, I just noticed that I planted the seeds on the 17th. They should have come up by now, right? 10 days is plenty of time. I think this rain then the sun will make them pop up any day now. I hope anyway.

They are coming up now! I borrowed my DD's little tiller and tilled the rest of the tomato rows so they will have a place to go soon. The other tomato plants are so big and some aready have tomatoes on them. It's going to be a good year for tomatoes here! Now if I can just keep those bad chickens away from them.

Hi Kris & Sherry --Thanks so much again for your prayers for Amy. She's doing really well. So glad to hear that the tomatoes are coming up --yay! As Sherry knows really well, we've been having some mighty cold temps (snow/hail just a couple of days ago. lol). Keep us posted on the 'maters :-)

It's sp gppd to see you back. I am glad your daughter is doing well. I would like to see some rain here but not any for this whole week. And HOT! I can't imagine it being cold here right now. It's hot to stay. But the garden will do good. I just hate watering. I have a well and I should hook the hoses to it bit I am afraid it will run out of water. But we've had planty of rain. I may have to just get some more hose and use it anyway.
