I went to our Farmer's Market early Sat morning (it's mostly local folks) and didn't buy anything but some peaches. They were selling what I already had a garden full of, squash, zucchini, herbs, beans, etc). I didn't see hardly any strawberries, raspberries or blackberries, not much corn either. I have a ton of blueberries but my blackberries are new so not much from them this year. What do you wish you had MORE of and what do you have TOO MUCH of? |

I wish I had a bigger variety of berries and other fruits. My zucchini is just coming in and I'm already giving that away. I also wish I had planted a larger variety of veggies than I did.

I wish I had planted corn!! Not enough room though. I will have plenty of tomatoes and peppers and that is sure useful! I would love to have more berries..just getting mine started this year..4 new rasberry plants. I wish I would have planted more cukes too..I planted some, probably 15 plants..but never enough for me..one of my favorites. There arn't any farmer's markets near here that I know of..(in the boonies) I am sure ready for some RIPE tomatoes!!!

I have raspberries coming out of my ears. Bought the coolest new tool at the store. it pulls out the weeds so easily. Just love it. Weeded my garden in about 30 minutes!

Beth, what is this magical weeder you speak of?

don't know what they call it but it is a long handle and then its kinda likea scraper but not. it is curved on both sides and then has like a blade, which is sharp on both sides. it will go in the ground about 2 inches and then you just drag it through the dirt and it rips up every weed in its path. If I could find my blasted camera I would take a picture for you. Told the kids the reward is $10.00 should they find it! I got the weed scraper thingy at Walmart for 12 dollars.

Too much mint. I don't even know what kind it is...the previous owner planted it and it took over the herb garden! Must divide. (I'm trying to dry some for my lavender-mint eye pillows, but it's not very potent...I wish I knew what kind of mint it is!)
Not enough wildflowers. I want purple coneflowers on my boulevard! Maybe next year... |

I am ready for some ripe tomatoes too. One of my plants is covered with tomatoes. I go out every day just to stare at them hoping they'll get red in front of my eyes!!! My Brandywine plant is huge and covered in blossoms but has not set one tomato yet.
I don't have too much of anything in my garden and always wish I had more!

Don't have much of anything yet (yes, our season is a little behind yours!) but from what I can determine, I'm going to have waaaaay too many cucumbers.

This is the handy dandy garden weeder I found at Walmart. ($12.00) Works like a charm!
Sorry the photo is sooooo big. I am trying to resize it without much luck. Check out my blog to see the rest of the pictures.I got it smaller!

Beth, that's a stirrup hoe.
I wish I had less weeds, less mint and more of everything else.

Are you talking about a Winged Weeder? It kind of looks like an "arrow" on the end of the handle? I have one of these and it is the best thing for weeding next to the stirrup hoe (or hula hoe as I call it). I'll try to take a picture of it today.
