Just saw the news on the web about last night's severe swarm of tornados thru 6 states. How many farmgirls are in those areas?

We made it through OK this go round. Lots of power out around us, flooding, trees down and some tornado damage just to our south. Friends in South East Tennessee hit hard. Lost their barn and garage. House damaged but salvageable. They are fine thanks to a deep basement and being hit in the daytime.
We are really tired of these storms. Day after day. Today looks good! The sun is finally out.
Prayers going out to those that suffered in this last go round.

I can't even imagine what all these tornados do to people. Just heard about all the loss of life from yesterday..that's not counting pets and farm animals, wild life etc. Such devastation. Praying for all the people, their loss and the strength and courage to carry on.

CJ, I'm glad you are safe. I see the distruction on the news. My heart breaks for those who were hit. It is frustrating to be so devistated by something you have no control of. We're gearing up here in Florida for hurricane season. I hope it is a very week season but of course, the weatherman doesn't think so. Saying prayers for those involved.
CJ, where are you in relation to Knoxville? Hugs, Joey

If y'all want to go to the Tornado post in Hogs and Quiches, you will see the update from my area. On the news just now they are saying 28 people here have been killed. Still looking for missing people. It was horrible all around me. Right here is fine. We are in a valley toward the end of it. But a tornado got into Flintstone just 20 miles to the north and dii considerable damage there. Just so bad all over.

I hope everyone else is ok that was in the path of this monster storm. It came through here 4 times. All day. One after another.

Oh y'all. When I saw all the horrible destruction on tv, it's like it's just on tv. Then when I actually saw it, I just lost it. It is not the same. My little town where I used to live and where my DD and Mrs. T live, looks like planes flew over and dropped bombs. Everywhere I looked was devestation. Everywhere. And the closer I got the worse it got. I am surprised there were no deaths in Flintstone. But in other places right near there, they are still counting the deaths. And I am worried about Kelly Wall. She lives in Appison, which was hit very badly. I feel very fortunate living out here between these 2 mountains. But the tornadoes came up and over Lookout Mt. into the towns. Seeing it in person is just not the same as on tv. Then I go to my parents just 8 miles East and it's like a different world. People zipping here and there like a normal day. Then 8 more miles East is total destruction. A whole town destroyed. Totally. Then I come out here to my home and people are mowing their lawns and doing normal things. So strange.

Just to let everyone know, we are okay, thank God. Our home wasn't damaged and we finally found my uncle and he's also ok. Unfortunately not everyone was so lucky. My heart and prayers go out to everyone affected by the tornadoes! We are all without utilities and they are saying it will be days before we get any services. We are grilling what's left of the meat we had in the freezer because I was finally able to locate some charcoal. For the next few days I guess we'll be using the fireplace for cooking. For those waiting on me to send stuff, we have no mail service right now. Hopefully we'll have that back soon. We had some supplies here but the stores are out of water, ice, gasoline, charcoal, and most everything else. Was finally able to get some Internet access on my husband's phone. Don't know when I'll be able to get online again. Take care everyone!

I too live in Tornado Alley & I am thinking it just got bigger this year! We are parying for less-less tornadoes, less damage, less loss of life, etc! Just high winds here that day but it took the roof off the does shed!

Ladies,I am so glad to see more and more of the farmgirls are ok. I watched the weather channel last night, and was dumbfounded by what footage I saw. And I know that while it's shocking enough to see on TV I also realize there's nothing like being there. I cannot imagine the horror of waking up and seeing your entire area devoid of everything but rubble. How many farmgirls in those areas hit still haven't checked in and/or are MIA? What can we do to help? What's needed?

Kris, I just got electricity last night at 11:30...I am so glad you are here on MJF. I was thinking about you when I was hearing where the storm was going the other night. How did you get through it? I hope better than some. I am so hurt by the lose of life and property. Just heard today that it was 2 tornadoes. And f5 and f3...Not sure if that is true...but it sure looks devestating. Do you need anything??? I will be home tomorrow(sat)...Just let me know.

Praying for all of our farmgirl friends affected by this destructive weather. It surely has been a wild and crazy spring this year...hoping it all settles down soon. Lots of prayers, Erica
