Now that I have too much "sit down" time, on account of my foot (and now have a new camera), I am back to working on my intermediate badge. I am searching the internet for a photographer who takes landscape, nature and animal photos. There are so many listings, I am wondering if any of you have found a helpful Web site for this? I also like to take photos of old buildings, barns, out buildings etc.

Hi Kristina,
I really like Sam Abell, he's a Nat Geo photographer known for his landscape stuff. Jim Brandenburg is another nature photog I really like.

I love Sam Abell's work. I will have to look up the other photographer. I've ordered books from the library as well. Here are a few photos I took recently that I love. I also included one that I took back when I first found the horse rescue (abandoned old house). The last one is one of our kid goat "Misty." If you look in the upper left corner you can see 2 of our dogs watching her in curiosity.
Anyone else working on this badge, please share.

Thank you. I had no idea that site existed. I'll look at it later today when I have more time. Thanks for sharing. I haven't worked with black and white yet, as I am not sure I prefer it. I wasn't real happy with the goat picture, but felt pretty good with the abandoned house. I've had a lot of comments from people regarding that one. I have it on my blog right now.

Here is the hen in flight photo, with the coloring adjusted with the computer program we use.
It's better, but not as good as the quality I can produce with my new camera.
It's very difficult to get a good shot of birds. I was sitting the porch and a hawk came right over me. I now take my camera to the porch and on road trips to the store. There were 3 geese flying low over a field and I would have loved to have had my camera with me. It would have been a perfect photo.

Those house shots look great Kristina. I love the first photo of the person plowing, the clouds, the blue sky above them and the grass do a great job of framing and breaking up the image. I know what you mean about shooting in black and white, it always seemed kind of lazy to me. Keep shooting, you've got a good eye.

Thank you Kevin. We were driving in the Amish Country. We had to stop quite often to take pictures. It rained all weekend, so this was one with the blue sky.

I was sitting outside yesterday, trying to get a good photo of the older hens. I can see how investing in a tripod would help me from getting a better photo. I tend to shake the camera. Here's one I took yesterday, but I feel it could have been better. I also took a picture of an old barn that is about to collapse. I am considering driving up and down our country highway and taking photos, and then putting them into a calendar.
