back in the 1990's, my motherinlaw shared a starter recipe with me for a cake-you used a huge glass pickle jar and added sugar every few days; fruit juices and canned fruits ( fruit cocktail, etc), etc- and eventually baked delicious yellow cakes with fruits...i used bundt pans and froze them-my family loved them...anyhow- i have lost the recipe--not to mention i cannot have the sugar now (gastric bypass surgery) but could adapt it with splenda..

does anyone have the recipe????? it was fun and yummy
thx.....

Margo, I have a starter that's at least 20 years old. I need to start another cake. I love those things and can eat the whole thing if I'm not careful. It's so moist and gooey. I love them. And that looks like the recipe that I use.

I just threw away a fruit amish starter that I'd had that was made of fruit-I would've sent it to you!

Starbucks and sushi to green fried tomatoes and corn pudding-I wouldn't change it for the world.
