I've read everyone's contributions, but what do we do about it? Do we take this information and write to these people to whom changed the name? I would be glad to send a note to California (being in WA State)if I knew whom to send it. Maybe it would embarrass the group for not checking their facts as some of you did. Surely some of these folks are as smart as our farmgirls!!

So ridiculous. Seriously. I was raised in California, and the stuff that makes the headlines is only the beginning. That state is full of craziness!!!

Claudia, you read my mind. This morning, I am crafting an email to send to the superintendent with the Gallic/Norse root origins of the word "Easter" that I found at the online dictionary. I'll keep it light, of course, but just thought I'd give them something to think about!!! :-)

Consider this--the date for the religious observation of Easter is the Sunday after the first full moon of spring. |

I think this is absolutely ridiculous. What is this world coming to when we can't call a decorated egg and easter egg and obviously the kids aren't going to call it anything different. Bizarre. I would question what else the teacher has taken upon themselves to change without consulting anyone first.
Give thanks to yourself everyday for all the wonderful things you do! |

I wonder if that is because the Last Supper was a Passover meal, and the Jewish calendar was lunar based. |

I thought the pollitically correct set were all about tollerance, how about being tollerant to people who believe in a higher power (God) and their holy days.
Spring spheres is going a little far. Also not too accurate shouldn't they really should have named them spring time oval avian product.

I am so glad that the "renaming craze" hasn't gotten any further than a small local area. I don't think the majority of the US would get on board with that.
Speaking of Easter Eggs- Guess what I bought Nora? I bought her the old stop motion Easter bunny movie. I can't remember what it is titled right now but it has "Old Iron Tail" in it. And we went a little crazy buying her an easter dress this year. She got cute sandals, a dress and white gloves! :)

If anyone starts messing with the Seder and all that encompasses, I think there might be an uprising.
I wish more Chriastians would use the Passover meal as a part of their traditions. I know it's Jewish. But it really makes you reflect.
So why do Christian religions bear the brunt of all the PC garbage and other religions are given leway. It "ought " to be a 2 way street then, but it isn't and it's very intolerant |
