I always feel more motivated when I write down what I have done today. It always is more than I realize!
Today I slept in a bit
Got Nora ready to go
Went to Wal-Mart and bought rain/muck boots for Nora
Went to the barn and groomed Tala
Saddled and exercised Tala
Let Nora ride Tala in the round pen and then went for a long walk with them both.
Came home and picked up garbage from around the house
Moved loveseat and vacuumed
Shampooed walk way in living room.
Did a 50/50 water change on the fish tank and moved him to a different location in the living room.
Finished vacuuming and shampooing the living room.
Got Nora's books put away on her bookself in her room.
Got the living room picked up
I am taking a break until Nora goes to bed. I am feeling pretty worn out from this cold.
I plan on having the living room completly picked up and shampooed as well as laundry done by the end of the day. I am not feeling great so am taking a break to catch my breath.

Well, today was a relaxing day for us! Partially because I fractured my ankle last night :)
I cleaned the chicken brooder and fed and watered them.
I took the kids to church and replaced all the photos on the church entry wall with new pictures that I have taken in the past few months.
My husband and I dropped the kids at his parent's house for the afternoon
He and I went to lunch
Then we went to Menards and bought all the supplies to work on our chicken coop, which we are converting from a doghouse
Then we went to MY parents' house and put all the supplies in the machine shed
Then we went back to pick up the kids
Brought them home and picked up the toys and lawn furniture outside as we are prepping for a bug storm overnight.
Put the kids in jammies, read stories, put them to bed.
Fed the dog
Made myself supper
Paid all the bills and balanced the checking account
And now I am setting up things for tomorrow as we have preschool in the morning and Dr Dobson's Discipline class in the afternoon, and tomorrow night I am meeting a new mom who needs an occasional childcare arrangement for her lil one :)
I hope to read some of my chicken health handbook tonight... but it's already 10 and I am still working on the paperwork :)

Meagan I hope your ankle isn't hurting too bad! Wishing you a speedy recovery.
We spent the week end out at the farm in our Scottie camper. House is coming along but the garden can't wait till it is done!
Today my SE (Spouse Equivalent) and I prepped the pole bean rows and put up our trellis for them.
Turned the compost
Cleaned out the chicken coop ( now without chickens)
Dug out some roots from the rest of the garden area
Put compost around the peonies
Pruned back a climbing rose I had moved to help it adjust
Weeded some flower beds
Made my list for the co-op tomorrow
Planted dill and basil seeds in the garden
Admired my asparagus bed (they survived our horrible winter!)
Cleaned out my old worm bin compost
Sat in the shade with SE and talked about plans for the farm
Cleaned out the camper
Loaded up and drove home.
Hauled all the camper stuff back in the house
Washing the sheets from our bed and the camper right now
Whew no wonder I am tired!

awww. admired your asparagus. Mine is up here too, and I admired it last night. And the strawberries and chives :)
My ankle is tolerable. It's a recurring injury. It happened the first time when I was 9 months pregnant with my first child... I was waiting for an elevator, in the hospital, and standing completely still when my ankle popped and gave way and I collapsed. Good times. Turned out it was an avulsion fracture, where the tendon tears and when it tears it takes a piece of ankle bone with it.
It was all healed, but my daughter was playing on the front steps yesterday (against my warnings) while I was carrying things in and out. When I went in, I told her to please get off the steps because she or someone else would get hurt. On my way back out, she was moved over to one side, and just as I went to step down, she reached her arm under me and I tripped and my ankle gave way and popped. Instantly knew what happened, pain like you wouldn't believe and i couldn't get up.
DH said I did a "peter Griffin" (Owwwwww. Owwwwww. Owwww...)
DD felt terrible (she is 3.5) but I think she MAY have learned her lesson about playing on the stairs.
I can walk in an aircast, but trying to stay off it and ice and elevate periodically. :)

I feel bad for you and your daughter! My son had an avulsion fx of his thumb playing soccer. That was 10 years ago and he just re-broke it picking up a case of soda at the grocery. Did you have to have surgery? He has twice now. They told him it will always be susceptible.
Be careful with your ankle!
I decide he (SE) had to be acknowledged and I am way to old for a boyfriend, he is more than a fiance, but we are not married. So SE it is!

Today just started for us, so Ill post about yesterday. We got up, and managed to get all six of us ready for church early, so we got to stop for breakfast on the way. After church we went grocery shopping and came home. We made lunch, and the cleaned the back patio. I watered the garden, and the starters in the house. I admired my lattus, sugar snaps, and green beans, standing there so proud and happy, as my puppy took off and darted right over my row of green beans, and trampled two!!:(
Then it was bakin time. Two loaves of Sourdough, cinnamon rolls, and a blueberry pie. We bbq'd a pork loin for dinner, and made butter and whipped cream.
After dessert, we bathed the lil ones, got them to bed, and shampooed the carpets in the living room and couches.
We fed the dogs supper, and fell into bed.
Alee, I sure hope you guys fell better soon, and get over that chest cold.
Meagan, I'm so sorry about your ankle! I'm sure your lil DD feels just awful. Trying to be productive when you are slowed down by an injury can be so frustratingly, especially when you're a go go go person. Wishing you a painless and speedy recovery!

| So far today, I cleaned the kitchen, did laundry (folded, but not put away yet), took DD to school and went grocery shopping....and it is only 10:54am. Now, I have to go to the Post Office, Library, YMCA...come home, make supper, finish laundry, clean main floor (dust, vaccum) and do computer work. No gardening since we are moving...but I love how you all are enjoying your gardens so much:) |

Oh you all sound so busy! So far today I have fed my bottle calves, checked cows twice, started laundry and will have to fold when I am off here, cleaned the upstairs bathroom from top to bottom, got packages ready to take to town later, helped my husband find 3 things right in front of him, loaded the dishwasher, dusted the living room, made the bed and still have e-mails to answer, bills to pay, floor to mop and vacuuming upstairs and down. Its no wonder I am tired at night and I am always on call in case someone needs help in the barn. Hmmm. I wonder if I can sneak a nap in somewhere :).
A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

today I sorta rolled out of bed, staggered to the coffee pot & got a few sips to last while I
Opened the big coop run, gave them a treat of dried cheerios, made sure they had water & feed
stumbled back into the house grabbed the coffee cup got a few sips then went to open the basement run door, threw them out some dried cheerios also.
Put out the 4 injured chickens & 1 duck that are in the house out into their very large fenced play area, dumped the metal wash tub that is the ducks swimming pool & put in clean water.....they too, got cheerios as a treat.
Grabbed the 2 cats that were screaming at me for food...they have food...& dumped them outside in the backyard.
let Bess & her 2 new baby chicks out of their cage to run in the dining room...they got dried mealy worms
Remembered coffee, grabbed it & sat down next to Willow my completely crippled hen & made sure she got a good drink of water while I cleaned the poop off her legs & backend...drank some more coffee.
Dryed a load of laundry & I had dyed what was to be a soft brown color...came out darker brown & looks sorta tie-dyed...which is ok
Put more coffee in my cup...did I mention my cup holds 20 ounces of coffee????!!!!
went back into to the basement coop area & scraped the cement floor of all its dried poo....shoveled tons of it & old feed out into the run....cleaned off the ceiling dusty cobwebs, put down a plastic tray under the food & water dishes...came upstairs blew my nose...lots & lots of dust...drank a few sips of coffee, returned & finished it.
Let one cat back in who decided to jump onto a kitchen counter so threw him back outside....read thur a few maryjane mags & am completely wiped out...soooo I will somehow get to the bathroom for a bath sometime when I can get my rump out of this chair.....Michele'

After taking care of the barn critters, today was laundry day for me. Washing, drying, folding. Blah! You get the picture. Thank God for washers with as much laundry as my DH accumulates!!!

Thank you Annette, my family think I am a nut with a weird sense of humor but it works for me...if you can't have fun in your life while cleaning poo off a chicken I say 'well shame on you!'....I would blame it on all the coffee I drink but that would be a bold faced lie, I just like to write things that make people laugh & see things a bit differently.....just so you know I do tend to talk this way also...its never just the facts, it has to be added too so I can see a smile or two....Michele'
oh & thank you for your concern over my nose.....its a bit stuffy from cleaning out 4 1/2 coops in 3 days but I think I have enough toilet paper to hold me thur. :)

Just wanted to see what my list looked like:
Got up and ate breakfast
Went down to help Dad pull a calf
Moved 3 pairs out to pasture
Waited for another heifer to calve
Feed the pairs in the pasture
Filled the truck with cake (for the cows)
Fed the other pairs the "cake"
Still waiting for the heifer to calve
Put hay out for the heifers in the corral and the bulls
Fed the bulls said hay
Went to Dad's to wait some more
Came down, placed bets on if she had calved.
I lost, she had...finally
Went home and got into hubby's work truck
Headed to town to fill with gas
Had lunch with mom
Dropped off coyote ears at Extension office for bounty
Headed home (it's an hour to town)
Got home and re-ran the dishwasher (hadn't completely cycled)
Got some laundry going
Thinking about what I am going to make for dinner and thinking I need a nap.
On my own for checking heifers until Dad gets home from his errands in town.
That's it so far. Fingers crossed that any heifer that decides to calve while Dad is gone, does so on her own!!
And it is 3:20 here now.

I know I am late to this party, but I REALLY like this idea. How often do we all look at only the unfinished items on our daily lists and feel discouraged and nod good enough? From now on I'm going to keep a running list of all the things I DID do.
Today:
Filed for current merit badges
Library (though closed today for furlough unbeknownst to me)
Picked up needs only from grocery
Picked up eggs from local "grower?"
Put away dishes
Swept floor
Made banana muffins
Checked on container garden (suburb farmgirl beginner here)
Washed daughter's large rug and hung over shower to dry (note to self: next time get hubby to help. It's REALLY heavy when wet)
Checked in with extended family to keep updated
Visited with a friend
Read more of Your Money or Your Life
And I'll get more finished after the children are in bed.
YES, I certainly like the looks of a daily accomplishment list rather than a daily To Do list.
