Two of my banty cochins have seriously gone broody. It just so happens that I will be receiving 18 full size chicken eggs for my classroom incubator this week. I am very tempted to put a couple of eggs under each cochin. I know they will sit on the eggs but will there be problems after the hatching with the chicks being full size? I imagine I'll separate the chicks at some point. Is there a 3 week duration of broodiness or will the girls sit on the eggs until they hatch?
Anyone have experience doing this? Should I go for it?
first off, I have had bantys hatch goose eggs with no problem, so there won't be a size differance problem at all, 21 days is normal chick hatch time, but sometimes they go a little longer, as long as the chick is peeping in the shell, they will continue to set...

Two of the eggs would not fit in the incubator at school so they will go under my broody banty today. The school kids are excited about this and they are calling it their experiment! I'll post again in 3 weeks to tell the outcome!
