Mid March we planted potatoes, around 30 lbs of seed potatoes. This past week, we set out....okay, dh set out somewhere between 600 and 700 onions, lettuce, radishes and turnips.

This coming week we hope to plant mustard greens and transplant the tomato seedlings that are sitting all over the kitchen. Still waiting for those ornery pepper plants to germinate and I need to do something with the mass of sweet potato slips.....but I love this time of year!!!

I splurged this weekend. Family Dollar has some of the cutest outdoor lights. They are colored LEDs in the shape of butterflies and dragonflies. They are seven dollars a set. I got two sets of the butterflies for our herb garden to hang in the gazebo. I got the dragon flies for dd#1. They are her favorite and her birthday is in June.

You've got a great garden going! I didn't plant mine yet.. because the old farmers in my town kept telling me it was going to frost.. and low and behold.. it sure did 2 nights ago.. I'm going to plant soon though! I have started tomatoes as well, along with eggplant and 3 different types of peppers. I can't wait to plant!

North central Arkansas Ozarks here--
Up and growing. Ate a couple of little radishes.
Asparagus up, but I don't have much of that. The beetles also are back.
Lettuce almost ready to pick little leaves. I've been eating carrots, spinach mustard, beet greens, other greens that I planted last fall. Also some herb up, like lemon balm, garlic greens, onion tops, etc. Put in some tomatoes that I started from seed. One froze, but others are ok. Don't think we'll have another freeze, but one never knows. Dogwood trees are in full bloom. Really pretty.

Gail depending on the size of tomato plants you have, we found that gallon milk jugs and two liter pop bottles with the bottoms cut off did really well at keeping the tomatoes from freezing till the danger passed!

how many lights come in a set, we live out in the country, when it's dark, it's DARK! and sometimes I can't water the garden till after dark, there is no outdoor lights near my garden and I've been wanting to buy some cheap solor led lights to line the garden with. They have tiny ugly ones at walmart for 1.00 each but would rather have cute ones!

I think they are a 10 light set, Heather. Not sure how much actual light they will put out for watering. We have 4 or 5 of the WalMart ones you mentioned. I know there is one on both sides of the gate.

BTW - Love your signature!

Thanks! I will check them out! My husband is a bit worried about the amount of light too. I'm sure I will have to add some additional ones but one or two sets of them to add to the ambiance I think would be good!

Thanks about my sig tag. Check out maryslittlelamb.com I got it from her ages ago!

I wanted to get my plastic down today, but the weather didn't co-operate. It's too wet. My garden is still bare!

These are pictures of my little postage stamp garden. So far it is too wet and cold to plant but I did put in a tub of strawberries and some garden art. I figured sense I can't plant veggies yet...I would just plant some art to enjoy...so I have something to look at when I pass the Garden. LOL

Blessings,
