What a silly day this is. Lots of trite and tired pranks going on, but I bet you all could share some really creative doozies. How about it? It will give us all a good laugh.

I'll start.
Our worst one was both a life lesson and an April Fool's joke. Our oldest son had been working at a local grocery store as a stockboy with his friend. They were sick of it and decided to quit. On their last day, they were sitting in the back where everything was stored and noticed that cartons of chocolate milk and pkgs of Gummy Bears were in the back freezer. They decided to help themselves and set them out to thaw in a hiding place while they went back to work. On their next break, they sat on boxes of grocery items and guzzled the pillaged chocolate milk and Gummy Bears. Our son called us on his way home and told us what he had done and we were not happy. He had stolen from the store and was laughing about it.

Soooooo, when he got to the house, the phone rang (my friend in a disguised voice) and the person asked for our son. She promptly told him that she was from the grocery chain security department and that in reviewing tapes had noted that he and "some other employee who they could not identify" was "eating the Gummy Bears and drinking the chocolate milk" that was not their property. He immediately gushed his friend's name like a weenie and stammered a question about what he should do. He was told to bring $20 in to pay for the items or he would have to show up at the police station on charges of theft.

Our son was white as a sheet and explained to us what he was going to have to do. He called his friend in a panic and explained that the friend would have to take in money too. As our son was heading out the door to go back to the store with heart racing and a sick stomach, we and the other three kids yelled, "April Fool". I thought he was going to kill us. But he sure learned a valuable lesson that he has not repeated!!

I can't think of any right now. Of all the things I ever lost...I miss my mind the most!

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

OH wow. Yes, your son learned a valuable lesson. Pranks around here were minor. SOmeone tapped my phone. First I couldn't hear a dialtone sot he lady next to me figured out the tape, though I think she did it. Next I called someone and left a message and when they called back they had a hard time hearing me. discovered more tape onteh mouthpiece.

We also had lots of lowered chairs and unplugged computer keyboards and mice.

Laurie, you reminded me of the workplace jokes. I worked in a county courthouse for the election board and we sent a note to the county assessor that had the phone number of the local funeral home on it with the message: Myra Mains called and wants you to call her. Say, "Myra Mains" quickly and think about calling the funeral home to ask for her! :-)

My step-sister (who is currently pregnant) was trying to convince us all day that she was going to have triplets...she even had a picture she sent via her mobile phone of a sonogram. Crazy girl...

My son didn't realize that it was April 1st until bedtime. He disappeared for awhile then came out of our room to tell us goodnight before heading to his room. When my hubby and I went to bed, I crawled in and thought things seemed a bit funny with the sheets but it took me awhile to figure out that he had short sheeted the bed!!!! He is only 9!!! He gave us awhile and then came in to see what we thought of his joke! Little turkey! :)

Ha Ha! Amanda! Too funny for a 9 year old. Where did he learn to do THAT? I didn't know about short-sheeting until college. :-)
